02:27I remember I was conducting a workshop

02:30the principal told me that
02:32only conduct workshops for girls
02:34and don't conduct workshops for boys
02:36because they can't be abused.
02:38So it's important we burst this myth
02:40that boys are abused too
02:42and as per the research,
02:43boys are abused more than girls.
02:45In our society also, we only consider that
02:47only a male can be an abuser.
02:48A male can abuse a girl.
02:50No, it can be a female too.
02:52And there have been cases in India
02:53where a female or a teacher
02:55has abused a child.
02:56So it's important that we burst these myths.
03:06In our law, in our country,
03:07under FOXO Act,
03:08there has been a lot of
03:10there has been punishment
03:11which is given to the abuser.
03:13It's stringent and
03:14recently also after the amendment,
03:16the punishment has been increased.
03:17But I think apart from that,
03:19it needs to be rehabilitative also
03:20because they need to be given proper counsel
03:22because after 10 years,
03:23after 12 years,
03:24if they're going to come out of the jail,
03:26it's not going to be just
03:27like they coming out of the jail.
03:29It's important that
03:30they are provided with proper counselling.
03:32In our country, we still don't have
03:34counselling centres for pedophiles
03:36or any person who is
03:38at the initial stage of having this
03:40feeling that I might abuse a child.
03:42So I think we need to understand that
03:44stringent punishments are important
03:46but proper counselling is also important.
03:53They're not just movies
03:55but it's a revolution
03:56against child sexual abuse.
03:57So I encourage all of you
03:59to show these movies
04:00to your younger brothers and sisters
04:01and help us in spreading the message
04:03to more and more children.
04:04And don't remain silent on this issue
