Transcript
00:00I have fallen in love with that boy so much, that this boy, how much he gives, how much he gives, how much he gives.
00:08So what kind of a director would not want to work with him?
00:12Because if there is anything missing, it is in the director.
00:16It won't be in this. It won't be in this at all.
00:20One day I remember telling him, Shashank, if you mind, if I tell you something, if I have some observation.
00:33And he said, no sir, please, please tell me, you know.
00:37And three, four times I tried to give my inputs to his performance or to the way he was holding the gun.
00:49All of these things. And every time I came up with a suggestion, he was so grateful, Shekhar.
00:57I mean, rarely you see actors feeling so grateful for those small, small suggestions that you are giving to your co-actor.
01:09And he was really taking it and thinking about it and doing it and then coming to you and telling you that yes, you were right.
01:15It's feeling right, you know, and feeling good about the shot.
01:21And the great thing about Sushant that I noticed that acting did not stop with rehearsing the lines or reading the script or remembering the lines or doing the movements.
01:33His interest went way into, what will the set look like?
01:38Every time I had a production design meeting, he was there.
01:41Every time I had a meeting with the DOP, he was there.
01:44Every time I had a VFX meeting, he would be there.
01:47And when he was, when we would rehearse, the name of the character was Gora.
01:53And he would say, hmm, sir, Gora mil nahi raa bhi. Gora mil nahi raa.
02:00Then he would rehearse it again. He said, I said, nahi, bahut accha hai Sushant.
02:05Sir, accha hai kyunki main Sushant Singh kar raha hoon. Gora nahi kar raha hoon.
02:12Yeh Gora kaise milega mujhe?
02:14Toh raak hai, do do, teen baje mujhe phone kar raha tha.
02:18Teen baje mujhe phone aaya. Mujhe pata, teen baje phone aaya, toh Sushant ka hi hoga.
02:22Sir, aajao? Sir, aajao?
02:25Sir, ek idea aaya.
02:27Agar Gora hamesha kuch aise dekhe, ya kuch trichi nazar se dekhe, jab bhi, toh kya lagta hai?
02:37Choti, choti, choti baatein lekar, roz raat, choti, choti baatein lekar, ghus gaya wo andar.
02:44Wo script mein ghus gaya, wo character mein ghus gaya.
02:48It becomes an addiction.
02:51Itna pyaar ho gaya mujhe us ladkar se.
02:54Ki hai yeh ladka, how much he gives, how much he gives, how much he gives.
03:00Toh kaunsa aisa director hai jo uske saath kaam nahi karna chahega?
03:04Kyunki agar kuch kami rahi hai, toh director mein hai.
03:08Isme nahi rahi hai, isme bilkul nahi rahi hai.
03:12Aisa actor tha wo.
03:14As an actor, you know, I was quite mesmerized in the manner he pulled off Dhoni.
03:19Knowing the fact, you know, Neeraj Pandey, the director, is a very good friend of mine.
03:24He told me that this boy never played cricket.
03:28And he came in, he mastered the craft, and he became Dhoni.
03:35He actually became Dhoni.
03:37His walk, his talk, you know, his play, everything.
03:41He's done it so well.
03:42But what...
03:43Dekho, star do hota hai.
03:45Star wo, jo ek cheez baad-baad do rahate rahate hain, do rahate rahate hain, do rahate rahate hain.
03:49Kyunki theatre mein taliye bachhti hain.
03:51Doosra jo actor star hota hai, uska kaam bada mushkil hota hai.
03:57Uska kaam ki wo taliyan baje lekin characters, pishle characters se alag lage.
04:02So shant dikhai na de.
04:04Usko star kaise banaoge?
04:06He, that's his contribution.
04:09He was on his way to reach a peak that you have now started to achieve.
