00:30This home that we have created is exclusively made out of very hard to recycle plastics.
00:44So plastics such as chips packets, you know, good cup packets, chips packets, tablet packets,
00:54those have no value.
00:55It typically ends up into our water streams, into the oceans, and into the landfills.
01:14We work with a network of waste pickers, informal waste pickers, and your local kabadi walas
01:20and scrap shops.
01:22This is collected from all across in Karnataka.
01:25It is then sent to our recycling partner in Pune, where it is compressed and made into
01:30these wonderful panels.
01:33Each panel has about 25 kgs of these hard to recycle plastics that have gone into it.
02:04And this is just a pilot project.
02:07For us this is a proof of concept and what we hope to do is create more applications
02:13for this.
02:14So today we are creating a house, tomorrow we want to be able to create bathrooms and
02:20toilets, and the day after we want to be able to create schools, study facilities, the possibilities
02:26are endless.
02:33It doesn't stop at just one home, in 2021 we hope to expand our portfolio and create
02:52more than 20 homes for the waste picker community.
