00:28But in the past, she can only buy up to 10 kilos of rice.

00:34the purchase limit for rice is tripled to 29.
00:39Before, we used to buy 60 kilos of rice.
00:42Now, it's 48, 58, 52.

00:59With medicines and vitamins.
01:02From the previous 10 kilos,
01:04up to 30 kilos of 29 pesos per kilo of rice
01:09can be bought by those in the vulnerable sector,

01:13single parents,
01:15and indigents
01:17under the P-29 Rice Program
01:20of the Administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
01:24According to her,
01:26it's intended to reduce the cost of food
01:29for the poorest Filipinos.
01:31This is the help of our government
01:34especially for the vulnerable sectors
01:37like senior citizens,
01:39indigents,
01:41so that they can buy and get rice for their families.
01:48There's a budget of 5 billion pesos for the program
01:52which is expected to be beneficial
01:55for farmers this harvest season.
01:58By increasing the amount of rice
02:01that the vulnerable sectors can avail or can access
02:04from 10 kilos to 30 kilos,
02:07definitely, the buffer stocks of the NFA
02:13will be released
02:15so more space will be available
02:18for the NFA to buy more rice from the farmers
02:22especially during the harvest season.
02:24The rice of the farmers is bought
02:27for P18 to P24 pesos
02:29by the National Food Authority
02:32depending on whether it's dry or wet.
02:34The Department of Agriculture is already in the process
02:36of procurement
02:38of buying trucks
02:40that will help the farmers
02:43to transport their rice
02:45to the NFA buying stations.
02:47The Department of Agriculture continues
02:49to ask for help from the farmers.
02:51Just recently,
02:53President Marcos inspected
02:55the new rice processing complex in Isabela.
02:58Here, the rice can be dried,
03:01ground, and turned into imbacan
03:03to help reduce the damage
03:06or rotting rice
03:08while maintaining good quality.
03:11These steps are in line
03:13with President Marcos' aspiration
03:16to help farmers
03:18while increasing the supply of food
03:21to a certain extent.
