00:00The Department of Health or DOH is focused on its campaign against COVID-19.

00:04That's why the agency is continuing to launch the free COVID-19 vaccine in Metro Manila,

00:09where the other part of the country will follow.

00:12Bian Manalo is in the center of the news.

00:17Now, different diseases are spreading again because of the hot weather.

00:22Len Destura's mother is doing different things to keep her 4 children away from the disease,

00:28especially by continuing to increase the number of cases of COVID-19 in their area in Quezon City.

00:52According to the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Division,

00:56more than 300% of cases of COVID-19 were reported this year compared to the previous year.

01:04This amounted to more than 100 cases.

01:07The children under the age of 5 are the most affected.

01:11Of these cases, 60% are not yet vaccinated or the vaccine against COVID-19 is not yet complete.

01:18That's why the government and the local government are asking the public

01:23to visit the nearest health center in their area

01:26for additional information about the free vaccine.

01:30It is important to complete the two vaccines against COVID-19.

01:34That's why the DOH is asking parents to go to the nearest health center

01:40for the vaccination schedule in their area.

01:43According to the DOH, more than 100 cases of measles-rubella were reported

01:49from January to March 1 of this year.

01:53That's more than 30% from the same time last year.

01:59Although it is a contagious disease,

02:01the spread of the disease can be stopped by vaccines

02:05and the hygiene of the body and surroundings can be maintained.

02:09These complications can be avoided if the children are vaccinated against the disease.

02:15The vaccination of measles-rubella for children from 9 to 12 months old

02:21in health centers is still ongoing.

02:23The DOH is targeting the spread of measles-rubella

02:31so that the spread of the disease can be stopped.
