00:00Well the extra £2.2 billion boost that we're announcing today comes on top of
00:05the £2.9 billion in the last budget, which means next year there'll be an extra £5 billion.
00:10But as well as announcing the funding, we're also saying what we're going to be spending it on.
00:14More advanced weaponry, directed energy weapons and more business going directly to UK firms.
00:21And we'll be improving defence housing, addressing the scandal of so many of our
00:25forces family living in poor accommodation with leaky roofs, broken boilers and mould in bedrooms.
00:32This is a government that is delivering for defence and that's why in these more insecure
00:37and dangerous times we're increasing defence spending and creating jobs
00:41as part of that in every corner of our country.
