00:00The administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has made it even more difficult for tourists in the Philippines to get help in managing the economy.
00:09This is after the foreign tourists were allowed to have VAT refunds for their products bought in the country.

00:21Joshua can now apply for VAT refund or Balikbayad for the foreign tourists who bought products here in our country.
00:30It is expected that more tourists will be able to visit our country and be able to manage our economy.
00:40Following President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s legislation, the VAT Refund for Non-Residents Tourists Act of December 2024,
00:52foreign tourists can now apply for Balikbayad from the products they bought.
00:59Also in Palacio, foreign tourists will be allowed to claim a 12% VAT refund for local products bought here in the country,
01:10which is worth P3,000 per transaction.
01:14That is equivalent to P360 that will be given through cash or electronic platform.
01:22This includes the products purchased, such as clothes, electronics, accessories, souvenirs, food, and other items.
01:32But it should come from accredited stores and will be exported to the country within 60 days of purchase.
01:41President Marcos' administration aims to encourage more tourists to visit our country.
01:49There are other countries that are also doing this to encourage tourists.
01:55This is just one way for more tourists to visit our country.
02:00And this can also encourage people to buy products here in our country.
02:07According to the Department of Tourism, the economic output of the country will be worth P228 billion
02:15from the spending of tourists, which is more than P4 billion that will be returned by the government.
