00:00Construction of the Calax Subsection Freight is already underway.

00:03Aside from reducing travel time and reducing fuel consumption,

00:08it is also expected to help lower the price of food.

00:17The businesswoman, Rufina, is now on the rise.

00:20During her trip from Cavite to Alabang,

00:24her business in clothing and personal care products is now affected.

00:29From Cavite to Alabang, it took me two hours.

00:34When I stop, I sometimes can't reach the traffic lights.

00:41But Rufina's long trip won't last long.

00:45Construction of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway or Calax Subsection Freight is already underway.

00:53This will be the bridge and governor's drive interchange in Cavite,

00:59which was inspected by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

01:03When it's completed, the 44-kilometer Calax will reduce travel time

01:10between Cavitex and the South Luzon Expressway by 45 minutes,

01:17which will give an average of 95,000 motorists a day.

01:25But travel time will not be the only thing that will be reduced.

01:29Fuel consumption will also be reduced,

01:32which will also reduce the price of food.

01:36We can reduce the travel time.

01:38It will definitely also reduce the fuel consumption.

01:43And it will benefit all travelers,

01:45and also those that will transport the food and other necessities.

01:51It will also go down. The price will also go down.

01:54This is good news for Rufina's vegetable vendor.

01:57Her store is affected by the cost of transportation.

02:02If the area where you get the Calax is far away,

02:06it will be harder to get gas, especially if there's a lot of it.

02:11So the diesel consumption will increase.

02:15For now, a large part of the Calax Subsection Freight is already completed.

02:20It is expected to be fully operational in the third quarter of 2025.

02:26According to DPWH,

02:28the Cavite-Laguna Expressway was spent more than P35.7 billion.
