00:00I feel like women, we're realizing we have all this worth and value
00:04and that we shouldn't be so quiet and on the sidelines.
00:30I was the type of kid who used to cut up my t-shirts and, you know, make a skirt out of a pair of pants
00:47because I wanted it to match, right? I mean, I've just always been part of who I am, you know?
01:00First of all, we have a new fly girl coming all the way from Bronx, Miss Jennifer Lopez.
01:11It was definitely a role that I felt I could sink my teeth into. I mean, it was a good role.
01:35They don't come along like this every day.
01:50It's a different energy, definitely, the movies from the music, but this is fun.
02:04Every time I'd go to, like, different appearances or performances or stuff, or go up to MTV and stuff like that in Times Square,
02:18you know, you see these signs and it would say J-Lo or Jenny Lo.
02:35You know, I was presented an opportunity with the idea of designing my own line,
02:42and with music and movies and fashion being so closely correlated, I really felt like I had a sensibility to contribute something to it.
03:04I was saying that it's very important for me to be Latino, and also the work I'm doing,
03:31and represent the Latino community. For me, it's a privilege to be here tonight and accept this award. Thank you.
04:01It is my greatest hope that our efforts with Amnesty International will encourage other people throughout the world to act, ensuring that finally, that justice will be served.
04:18A star on Hollywood Boulevard.
04:22I said I wasn't going to cry. I'm not going to cry. I'm not going to cry.
04:26I'm really, I really am overwhelmed. This all feels, I don't know, kind of surreal, but really so real. You know, it's awesome.
04:39We've got to start thinking like these Wall Street guys. You see what they did to this country? They stole from everybody. Hardworking people lost everything.
05:01And not one of these douchebags went to jail. Not one. Is that fair?
05:09I think we all think we're working hard all the time. But I always tell my kids, they were like, yeah, we know you work hard. I'm like, no, it's not just I work hard.
05:27I put in harder work than everybody else. I work harder and harder and harder and harder. And when everybody's sleeping, I'm doing more. I said, and that's what it takes to have that kind of success. It's just a relentless pursuit of creativity.
