EP 25. SURAH AL-FAJR (89 ) THE DAWN

00:00In Surah Al-Fajr, Allah swears by the light of Fajr,

00:05by the ten nights of Juft and Taq,

00:08and by the night that passed.

00:11These oaths have been given for an important reminder

00:14that we all must answer for our deeds.

00:18Allah tells us that many people are ungrateful.

00:22When Allah gives them blessings,

00:25they say proudly,

00:27My Lord has given me honor.

00:30But when He is in need of their sustenance,

00:33they complain,

00:35My Lord has disgraced me.

00:57But when He tests him and measures his sustenance,

01:04he says,

01:05My Lord has disgraced me.

01:09Nay!

01:10But you do not honor the orphan,

01:17nor do you love the food of the poor.

01:48Allah has tested many nations through wealth and power,

01:54but most of them did not care for the orphans,

02:00nor did they feed the poor.

02:03Allah gave countless powers,

02:06abilities and means to the last great civilizations

02:10such as Aad, Khairun, Samud and the great Pharaoh.

02:15But they crossed all limits

02:18and spread disorder in the land.

02:21Then Allah arrested them in severe punishment.

02:25Social status, wealth and power come with great responsibility

02:31and we must account for how we used them.

02:37But those who spend a good life

02:40will take care of others

02:42and will always be grateful to Allah.

02:45Allah will be pleased with them in the Hereafter.

02:49They will be given excellent rewards and blessings.

02:53Allah will say to them,

03:13So enter among My servants

03:17and enter My Paradise.
