00:00If we want to fight back against hate, we can do it, but we have to do something.
00:05We can't just sit by and be unhappy about it.
00:17You are someone who is Jewish and you are having a Seder.
00:22Invite two people of a different faith to join your Seder.
00:27So it's something that we all have in common, that when we are celebrating something, we
00:32celebrate with food and we break bread together.
00:35Of course, in this case, there is no bread, there's just matzo.
00:41We're living in a time where we are, we're really open to each other's cultures and we
00:50just need to be a little bit more open to doing it ourselves, but saying, you know what,
00:57why don't I have you over for dinner because I want you to learn about my culture.
01:01And two for Seder is us as Jews saying, I want you to learn about my religion.
01:21Two for Seder is about honoring Joyce's memory.
01:26My mother-in-law and I actually made all the Seder dinners together, but Joyce always had
01:32many people who were different, you know, from different nationalities and they had
01:40people from all over the world attend their dinners, you know, their co-workers or students
01:45who didn't have any other place to go or, you know, people who just needed some place.
01:50So that was, from her perspective, I feel that that is a very big part, that's a very
01:56big ingredient of making the meal successful.
01:59It is important to remember what inspired all this and I wish it wasn't a negative thing
02:05that had inspired this.
02:07I wish I had been able to think of something like this to prevent it, but my hope is that
02:12this might prevent something in the future.
02:23In the face of hate, in the face of anti-Semitism, in the face of racism, all these different
02:29things, we all feel so helpless.
02:32There are things we can do, there are bridges that we can build.
02:36This is a very special country that we're in.
02:39Hate does not belong in this country.
02:42This is a country of brotherhood and sisterhood and you are my neighbor and I want to learn
02:48more about you and I'd like you to learn more about me.
02:52So take the time, invite somebody to your house, go out to dinner, just build a bridge
02:59with someone.
03:00It will make a big difference, even if you think, oh, this is just a small thing I did.
03:06You need to do it.
03:08And it's our country to keep the way we want it to be.
