Pop superstar Taylor Swift has reached the upper levels of United States national security, again ... she was just name-dropped this morning in a Senate intelligence hearing about global threats and American allies.

00:00I was shocked yesterday. Shocked yesterday at this unbelievable security breach.
00:08And again, let's not make this political that if you're a Republican, you make an excuse for it,
00:17and if you're a Democrat, you slam it. Let's just talk about objectively.
00:21That we were hours away from bombing the Houthis, and there is a text chat
00:28with all of the defense mucky mucks on Signal. And it turns out that the editor-in-chief
00:36of The Atlantic is on this text chat because the text was not on a platform that the government
00:44uses for top secret information. It was on Signal. Right, which is an encrypted app that
00:50a lot of people use and different companies use to message back and forth. And Jeffrey
00:56Goldberg, for some reason, got invited into this group chat. Can you imagine what this
01:00must have been like for Jeffrey Goldberg to all of a sudden see the names VP and Secretary of
01:07State and all the rest of this discussing it? You wonder, is there another Jeffrey Goldberg
01:11that works in the administration or something? Well, he even said this yesterday. He said
01:15that you could see JG on the screen, and nobody had the curiosity to say,
01:23who is that on the screen as we're listening? So here's the thing. There's a massive fallout
01:29on this. There was a congressional hearing today, and Senator Warner from Virginia
01:34actually used Taylor Swift. And we will explain why he did this to drive home an alarming point.
01:44American first cannot mean America alone. The intelligence we gather to keep Americans safe
01:52depends on a lot of allies around the world who have access to sources we don't have.
01:58That sharing of information saves lives, and it's not hypothetical. We all remember,
02:03because it was declassified last year when Austria worked with our community to make sure
02:09to expose a plot against Taylor Swift in Vienna. That could have killed literally
02:13hundreds of individuals. So what he's really saying is that when we start having these talks
02:21about bombing and it's on signal where a guy from the Atlantic is somehow invited onto the call,
02:29they're thinking, well, the Chinese could be listening, the Russians could be listening,
02:33and then they're not going to share information with the United States.
02:36Well, and part of what he's referring to is during that call, if you read it,
02:39which Jeffrey Goldberg posted, they are talking you know what about Europe, basically slamming
02:46Europe, saying that Europe's actions are pathetic, that they haven't done enough to defend
02:50themselves. And so that message, now everybody could see in the world because Jeffrey Goldberg
02:56posted it, but likely was being tracked by the Chinese, by the Russians and others, which may
03:02give them less reason to believe that the U.S. would defend Europe if Europe was attacked.
03:08Right. Now, this is, I don't even understand this, but our Secretary of Defense, Pete Hexhap,
03:17was asked about this, and he seemed to say no harm, no foul.
03:24You're talking about a deceitful and highly discredited so-called journalist who's made
03:31a profession of peddling hoaxes time and time again to include the, I don't know,
03:37the hoaxes of Russia, Russia, Russia, or the fine people on both sides hoax,
03:43or suckers and losers hoax. So this is the guy that peddles in garbage. This is what he does.
03:49I would love to comment on the Houthi campaign because of the skill and courage of our troops.
03:54I've monitored it very closely from the beginning. And you see, we've been managing four years of
04:00deferred maintenance under the Trump administration. Our troops, our sailors,
04:04were getting shot at as targets. Our ships couldn't sail through. And when they did shoot
04:09back, it was purely defensively or at shacks in Yemen. So he said that a lot of this, this was
04:16not classified. How can it not be classified if it's about impending bombing? Well, the president
04:23technically can declassify anything at any time. So it's possible that he's going to declassify
04:30after the fact. But here's my question. If, if Jeffrey Goldberg is as bad as Pete Hegseth said,
04:36why is he invited on this call? If you feel that way about him? Obviously it was a mistake. He
04:42wasn't supposed to be added. I mean, you know, it's not like they intended to run the war plans
04:47by. Well, why is Hegseth attacking the messenger then? Look, you could get into a lot of stuff
04:51with Goldberg and the suck, you know, the suckers and losers and all that stuff. I think he was
04:56responsible here. I give him credit. First of all, he didn't blow the operational integrity
05:00of the mission, right. By, by releasing things before they happened, which he certainly could
05:04have. So I think, I think he actually deserves praise here. So, you know, put all the other
05:08stuff aside. I don't know why Hegseth responded like that. I mean, this is a big screw up. I think
05:14you got it. Look, if you're on the right, you got to call it. You've got to be honest. And you can't
05:18criticize people for giving Hillary Clinton a pass or giving Joe Biden a pass. And then when it
05:22comes over, you know, your side of things where you say, hey, no big deal here. This is a big
05:26screw up. It's a mistake. I think by and large, like the whole treatment of classified material
05:32has gone to crap. Starting with Hillary Clinton, then Donald Trump, Joe Biden, the classified
05:37materials not respected anymore. It's treated in a willy nilly fashion. And I think it needs to
05:42stop. This is a screw up. And I think Mike Walsh should be fired. He's the one who invited Goldberg
05:47into the chat. And he's got to go, in my opinion. Why are they on signal? Why are they having?
05:52Well, look, there's just, you know, there is a platform for this that the government has
05:57to secure the conversation. But they're saying. But you've got to also you've got to you've got
06:01to also listen to what they're saying. They're saying the things they were talking about were
06:05not classified. So they can bombing plans for. That's what that's what I'm saying. That's what
06:10I don't know. I'm not the director of national. I'm telling you what they said. And by the way,
06:14Goldberg said he's just lying about that because he saw it and there were plans for bombing how
06:20they were going to bomb. How was he to release everything? How was that declassified? And in
06:24some ways, they're almost taunting him to release everything by saying that these plans are impugning
06:30him. They're they're asking Jeffrey Goldberg to release the whole thing. You are so right. But,
06:34you know, it's I don't know. But but Badcock, to your point, though, about why not just say
06:39it's a mistake. Donald Trump has never said that about anything for his entire career.
06:44He's been elected president twice. Admitting I was wrong. I got this one wrong is not his M.O.
06:50and everybody around him in the administration is taking cues from him to deny, deny, deny and
06:56attack the messenger, attack the media. They're not pointing out anything that Jeffrey Goldberg
07:00said here that was untrue. They're talking about past stories, but they're not actually denying
07:05anything in the current talking about. Oh, the the mission was a success. Well, that's great.
07:11But this is about security. Yeah, this has nothing to do with Russia, Russia, Russia.
07:16Hi, my name is Bree from New Jersey. And honestly, I mean, what's the big deal? It wasn't really
07:20exactly war plan, just a little friendly discussion about weapons, targets and timing. That's totally
07:24different, right? I'll tell you, I'm just shocked at this.
