Colorado is the 17th and latest U.S. state to ban gay conversion therapy. But the debunked practice is still used in many states across the country.
Transcript
00:00Holy crap the therapy that they sent me to was to basically de-gay me so every
00:06other day they would inject me with testosterone in addition to the
00:10psychotherapy that I was going through.
01:00Knowing that conversion therapy has been debunked and that it's so harmful to our
01:10young people, are you opposed to conversion therapy? I'm opposed to
01:15interfering with communication between therapists and their patients. If a
01:18licensed therapist wants to provide something and a parent or a family
01:23wants to accept that therapy, it's not for the government to say what they
01:27can and can't say.
01:39I will not support any bill that diminishes the religious freedom of
01:45Hoosiers or interferes with the constitutional rights of our citizens to
01:49live out their beliefs in worship, service, or work.
01:57So many people do commit suicide coming out of gay conversion therapy and that's
02:06something that parents should know. If they are considering putting their
02:09children through this, would you rather have a gay child or a dead child? And
02:13that's a message that I wish anybody who's considering putting their child
02:17through this should know because do your homework.
