00:00We just want to know what you need.
00:02You know, if it's more money, let us know.
00:05If it's people outside your next service,
00:08you know, protecting you, let us know, we'll be there.
00:23When I look back on this day,
00:25I'm not gonna remember, I refuse to just remember
00:28one individual filled with darkness.
00:31I'm gonna remember the light.
00:34I'm gonna remember the thousands of people who showed up today
00:37who are supporting all around the country.
00:40Thousands of people filled with love and hope.
00:43I'm gonna think about them.
00:45I hope that you also think about them.
00:47And when you look back at this tragedy,
00:49you look back and are still filled with hope.
00:51And anything the Muslim community can do, we're committed to do.
00:58If you need organizers on the ground,
01:13MGAGE will provide them.
01:15If you need anything at all, if you need food for the families,
01:18if you just need somebody to come to the grocery store
01:20because you don't feel safe in the city, we'll be there.
01:22And I'm sure everybody in the room would say the same thing.
01:24We're here for the community.
01:25Money should not be an issue.
01:27That should not be a concern, paying for a funeral
01:30or paying for medical costs.
01:32That is not what should be focused on.
01:34It's about mourning right now.
01:35So the Muslim community, at launchgrid.com,
01:39backslash Muslims Unite for Pittsburgh Synagogue,
01:42we started to raise some money.
01:44And since yesterday afternoon,
01:47we've been able to raise over $70,000 for the community.
02:08It reminded me of a Hadith instance
02:11in the Seerah on the life of the Prophet Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam
02:14from Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim,
02:18Qais Ibn Said reported a funeral passed
02:21by the messenger of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
02:23peace and blessings be upon him,
02:25and he stood up.
02:27And this is a lesson to the companions of the Prophet
02:31about discrimination and intolerance.
02:33And then when the funeral procession came,
02:35the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam, may peace be upon him,
02:37stood up.
02:38And his companions asked,
02:39why are you standing?
02:40It is a Jewish funeral.
02:41It is not one of ours.
02:44And I always imagine this story with his look
02:47just being incredulous.
02:49And a couple words is all he needed to explain to the companions
02:53how ridiculous that was.
02:54The Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam responded,
02:56was he not a soul?
03:00With just those few words,
03:01he was showing us that the barriers between our hearts are artificial,
03:05that our differences are circumstantial,
03:07and don't mean anything when compared to our shared humanity.
