"God forgive us. Jesus, we've forgotten you." Was this Pennsylvania lawmaker out of line with this prayer — delivered right before the swearing-in of the state's first Muslim woman legislator?

00:00I, Jesus, am your ambassador here today, standing here representing you, the King of Kings,
00:05the Lord of Lords, the Great I Am.
00:16And I'm so privileged to stand here today.
00:19So thank you for this honor, Jesus.
00:21For those that came before us like George Washington and Valley Forge and Abraham Lincoln,
00:25who sought after you in Gettysburg, Jesus, and the Founding Fathers in Independence Hall,
00:31Jesus that sought after you and fasted and prayed for this nation to be founded on your
00:36principles and your words and your truths.
00:38Jesus, we've lost sight of you.
00:40We've forgotten you, God, in our country.
00:43And we're asking you to forgive us, Jesus.
00:45Jesus, you are our only hope.
00:48God, I pray for our leaders, Speaker Turzai, Leader Cutler, Governor Wolf, President Trump.
00:55I claim all these things in the powerful, mighty name of Jesus, the one who, at the
01:01name of Jesus, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, Jesus, that you are Lord.
01:07In Jesus' name, amen.
01:15To use my religion against me and to then storm off the floor, I thought number one
01:21was very, very immature, and number two, very, very disrespectful.
01:32This is not a place where you should weaponize religion and try to use it to intimidate anyone.
01:36There's no place for that type of hate in this chamber.
01:39There's no place for that type of divisiveness.
01:41General Assembly is not the place where we want to try to proselytize anyone.
01:46The acceptance of people in terms of their faith, tradition, is a part of what it means.
01:51We need to be free.
01:52We need to make sure that we are providing more inclusion as opposed to being divisive.
01:57So I think my presence and my visual in the House sends a message that we have to represent
02:02everyone in the commonwealth.
