00:00We need to see and hear from people, from different other people than other middle-class white people.
00:06And I know I'm sitting here saying that as a middle-class white person.
01:00I guess it's my sense of humour, I suppose.
01:04And it came at a time in my life when I was feeling quite inexplicably ragey.
01:09And I wanted to write a female character that was inexplicably ragey as well.
01:13I feel like there's a lot of kind of angry young men characters out there.
01:16I don't need to explain why they're angry, they're just allowed to be.
01:30I think we should stop masturbating.
02:00The voice of a female character
02:16A lot of the voices that are being commissioned in the first place
02:20are often white middle-class voices, often white male middle-class voices.
02:24And I think it's not just about casting, although that's very important.
02:28It's about the stories that are being told.
02:31And I think that's really exciting that people are now starting to make a noise about that
02:35and actually starting to create work about people from different stories
02:40and different lives and different ethnicities.
02:48Are you a cool person?
02:49I'm a pretty normal person.
02:50A normal person?
02:51Yeah, a normal person.
02:52What makes you a normal person?
02:53Well, I don't believe in God.
02:58I love it when he does that.
