00:00I didn't know anyone that was like me, that was young, and newly injured, and wanted to still show the world that I was normal.
00:23Hi everybody. It's the third day.
00:26Look, I'm sitting up.
00:28Thank you for everything, for everybody, and I'm doing okay.
00:35The mission of the Rolex is to empower other women with disabilities to live boundlessly and shift perspective through dance.
01:01When I first started this, and I got six other girls in town for just a week of dancing, and then a big performance at the end,
01:11I just started because I wanted friends and I just wanted to meet people.
01:14And now, it's so cool to see that it's not only created normal for myself, but for all these other girls on the team.
01:22And on top of it, we feel like sisters now.
01:31I've gone through some surgeries, and I just, I kind of lost hope in what life was and the purpose of life, and kind of hated being in a chair.
01:45So being here, I feel so loved and confident.
01:50One, two, go. Up, down.
01:54This year, we are at 120 girls coming in from 10 different countries, all around the world, all different types of disabilities, all coming together, not only for dance, but for community.
02:06And that's something that I feel has lacked, not only in the differently abled community, but with women in general, for us in our situation.
02:15So it's so cool to have a platform of all six of us girls together, and we're heading it up, all girls in chairs.
02:37We want people to see that we are a person first, and this wheelchair doesn't define us.
02:44You can embrace your chair, and you can be sexy, and you can be beautiful, just the way you are.
02:48And it's so cool to see that a lot of the girls have just evolved into this bright, outgoing, confident young lady.
02:55And really, that's what this is all about, is just showing that you can be you, and with no apologies.
