This former NFL player's training program is helping to physically and mentally empower the veteran community.

00:00You know I started the Adaptive Training Foundation because I met a guy without arms and legs.
00:13I wanted to extend to him an opportunity to see himself no longer broken.
00:28You see these people that come in and they know they can do better but they don't know
00:33how and ATF makes it possible for them to realize that better self.
00:56We have everybody from stroke victims to IED survivors, motorcycle survivors, you know
01:05you name it there are people here that have gone through it and everybody that comes into
01:11this you can see a change in their smile within nine weeks.
01:26I would avoid going upstairs, I would avoid trying to lift you know things.
01:34ATF showed me that I can do it and I don't need to be afraid of it.
01:37It's with a lot of other amputees and I can help them and they can help me
01:40it's very much a give-and-take I've never found in any other gym.
01:58You see these people that come in and they know they can do better but they don't know how

02:14My vehicle was struck by a suicide car bomb. I don't remember anything I blacked out but I woke
02:18up had two shattered legs from the knees down, traumatic brain injury and PTSD diagnosis.
02:25Yeah just the community and civilians and military and everything everybody
02:28kind of understands they all meet me where I'm at here.
02:34If you're in a like a rough part in your life it's a mental challenge to just sign
02:42that line that says hey I want to do it. So the hardest part is getting started.
02:52You treat people broken they act broken. Test yourself put yourself in growth producing
02:56fear encounter opportunities to find out what's indestructible in you.
