Over 80% investigation completion rate in 2024, says IGP

Despite a challenging year in 2024, the police maintained a completion rate of over 80% for criminal investigations, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain  Speaking at the 218th Police Day celebration on Tuesday (March 25), Razarudin said that last year saw many high-profile cases that brought scrutiny on police handling. 00:00The year 2024 is a challenging year in its own context for the entire team.

00:08This is because throughout the year, the team's credibility has been challenged to solve a number of high-profile cases

00:17that have been investigated with 1,001 perceptions by the public, especially on social media platforms.

00:25Among the crimes that have plagued the country throughout the year 2024

00:31is the detention of an Israeli citizen

00:35along with 6 firearms and 200 bullets in the head.

00:49The third has been the harassment at the Police Station in Kramat, Pulau Pinang.

01:07In terms of the investigation of the results of the criminal case,

01:11throughout the year 2024,

01:13the Ministry of Criminal Justice has successfully opened a record of 126,842 cases

01:22with a settlement percentage of more than 8.4%,

01:27which shows that every 10 cases, 8 cases will be solved.

01:32Meanwhile, the Ministry of Criminal Justice in Nakuti

01:37has committed a total of 245 murder syndicates and detained a total of 750 people

01:43with a total violation value of more than RM388 million.

01:49Next, in this case, the cyber crime, the transfer of RM through the Ministry of Health and Commercial Crime

01:56has managed to solve fraud cases in the Taliban,

02:00involving a total of RM1.57 billion.

02:06I am also proud that the Ministry of National Security and Public Safety

02:11has managed to solve a total of 9,498 cases

02:16by arresting 7,377 people

02:21and confiscating various valuables worth more than RM984 million throughout the year.

02:32According to the Ministry of Health and Traffic Control,

02:36the Ministry of Criminal Justice has issued a total of 4.9 million complaints,

02:41which is an increase of 55%

02:45with a total amount of RM299 million.
