Bryan Broaddus reported at the top of our show that the Cowboys do have legitimate interest in trading for Patriots backup QB Joe Milton to fill their own backup QB void. Is that a trade they should make, or should they just wait for the NFL Draft and take a college passer? The GBAG Nation discusses that as well as a new trade offer for Micah Parsons in today's Cowboys News of the Evening.

00:00If they're willing to give him up for a five, which is probably going to do nothing for
00:19your organization.
00:20I think the front office wants to fight for him.
00:23I don't think the coaching staff is necessarily on board with it.
00:28Your coaching staff comes in and says, we're really not interested in him as a backup
00:32guy.
00:33We'd like to do something else.
00:34I know they do have Dobbs as their backup.
00:37But I'm thinking as a young quarterback who had success, if we can get him in a couple
00:41of preseason games and he lights it up, I think trading for a five is probably nothing.
00:49I have a young quarterback asset in my building.
00:53We know it was years ago, probably two decades ago now, what the Packers were able to trade
00:56Matt Flynn to the Seahawks for.
00:59I want a three.
01:00I want a two.
01:01But more than that, I want to know from you guys maybe what you think the Cowboys should
01:06be thinking here for Milton.
01:08Is this evidence they're trying to prospect in those quarterback waters and find a replacement
01:11for Dak who's starting to get dinged too much?
01:13Yeah, I think it's twofold.
01:15I think you want to have something with some more upside than Cooper Rush.
01:19And so you have to start considering Dak's end and when is that going to be sometime
01:25over the next four years, but injuries have cut him short.
01:28And throwing Cooper Rush out there, not good for business.
01:31You're going to probably win one too many games to get the draft pick you really want
01:35in a year that you actually suck like this year, but you're not going to win enough to
01:37actually get to the postseason.
01:39And there's no excitement, at least when you have a young rookie quarterback or like a
01:43Joe Milton style quarterback with upside that you haven't seen before.
01:48That's getting eyeballs and that's generating interest when a season may be going sideways
01:52on you and Dak gets hurt, who cares to go watch Cooper Rush again?
01:57We've seen this bland story before.
01:59Go get something that maybe it's going to be a train wreck, but you will be, I mean,
02:04all Cowboys fans will be much more interested in watching the Cowboys with Dak goes down
02:07and it's a rookie quarterback or a second year quarterback as opposed to Cooper Rush.
