00:00It wouldn't be a tranquil healing vacation at the White Lotus if someone didn't die.
00:10Welcome to Ms. Mojo and today we're recapping all the season 3 developments that tease who
00:15will bite the bullet before the final credits roll. The danger has been ratcheted up to
00:20the nth degree in Thailand and for once it feels like no one is safe.
00:24You think he's dangerous? I mean he killed his wife.
00:29Internet forums are ablaze with wild fan theories hoping to identify the unlucky
00:34candidates of the White Lotus curse. So here are all the clues we've gathered so far.
00:38Plus stick around for our best guess as to this season's doomed tourist or tourists.
00:44And of course the killer. It's not gonna get messy.
00:48You're gonna kill the dude right? In my book that's a little messy.
00:51Spoilers ahead for the first two seasons and the first six episodes of season 3.
00:58Season 3 opens in true White Lotus fashion with the discovery of a body that has turned up to
01:03sour everyone's picturesque vacation. But unlike the first two seasons the characters now find
01:08themselves in a terrifying active shooter situation. At the peak of the action creator
01:13Mike White cuts to a one week earlier card meaning we'll have to watch to the end to
01:17find out how it all plays out. So who was the gunman? Whose body was floating in the pool?
01:23And who else may be hit by the gunfire? Let's dive in.
01:42The Ratliffs. A looming fraud indictment,
01:45missing lorazepam, kissing brothers, and a daughter who wants to move abroad to embrace
01:50Buddhism. The Ratliff family is entangled in quite the messy web. There's a good case to
01:55make that at least one of them could be destined to die. For example Saxon has been schmoozing
02:00Chloe and her murderous partner Greg who's going by the name Gary now knows about their affair.
02:06He knows about you. Me?
02:10But considering the shots ringing out in the opening sequence we have to account for who's
02:14in possession of a weapon. Timothy stole Gytok's gun so the booming gunfire could be at his hands.
02:20And even though Gytok took it back, Timothy still knows where to find it. With his business
02:26empire crumbling and the threat of jail time hanging over him, Timothy is unraveling quickly.
02:31I'd rather die. You understand me? I would rather f***ing die.
02:36Though he considers taking his own life, the prospect of leaving behind a distraught family
02:41stops him from going through with it. So what if he decides to take them with him?
02:46Death is a happy return. Like coming home.
02:53Fan theories online point to a potential family annihilation scenario where Timothy takes out
02:58Victoria, Saxon, Piper, Lachlan, and himself before they can find out that his shady dealing
03:03cost them everything. He even fantasizes about it in episode six. This ending would be incredibly
03:10dark, and the past two seasons' deaths have had comedic elements to them. However, we aren't ruling
03:16this theory out yet. There are quite a few clues that indicate his potential to kill. For one,
03:21there's been numerous scenes where he almost seems to be telling Piper goodbye. I love you so much.
03:29Oh, okay. Okay, thank you. You're so perfect.
03:34While this could be interpreted as Timothy coming to terms with a reality where Piper
03:38will no longer be a part of his life, either because of his inevitable self-inflicted death
03:43or the potential sentencing, there's still merit to the idea that he's taking time to appreciate
03:48his daughter with encouraging words before he has to do the unthinkable. It's as if he wants
03:53this moment to be her final memory of him, rather than the moment he pulls the trigger.
03:57Later, Victoria's dialogue could be taken literally when she comments on the type of men who
04:02were aboard a boating excursion. Without realizing it, she's effectively describing
04:10her husband. So if he belongs in the same category as the crooks on the boat, like murderer Greg,
04:15then her next line is even more sinister. And of course, the camera cuts right to
04:30contemplative Timothy as she emphasizes how dangerous those guys are. But if Timothy doesn't
04:35turn out to be this season's killer, and the family annihilation theory still rings true,
04:39could there be potential for someone like Victoria to carry it out? She's already displeased with
04:44Piper's life choices, so what could happen if she learns about her son's taboo behavior
04:49and her husband's criminal misdeeds? Could she really stomach losing her home?
04:53We're not gonna lose everything. No. No. And if we did, honestly, I don't know if I'd want to live.
05:04Jacqueline, Lori, and Kate. When it comes to the three frenemies, they're clearly far out
05:09of their depths in Thailand. From the hotel for seniors to the chaotic water fight street festival,
05:14the ladies are constantly popping up in the wrong places.
05:18Something is off. What? I don't know if I like this. Something's a little weird, am I right?
05:28They're quintessential ignorant tourists, and of course, we can't ignore the irony of this line.
05:34Please don't shoot us with your guns, okay? Since meeting Valentin, Alexi, and Vlad,
05:39they've been turning back the clock to their party days. But at what cost? Jacqueline has
05:44already taken the liberty of sleeping with Valentin, despite having a husband back home.
05:48And Lori is finally letting loose post-divorce, leaving her in a number of compromising situations.
05:54So while they're finally getting the hedonistic experience they came to Thailand for,
05:58it seems the alarm bells are only ringing for Kate. After a tense situation where
06:02Alexi's girlfriend approaches the group, Kate begins to raise the red flag.
06:07After having her initial cry ignored, the men are invited back to their villa.
06:27And Kate's instincts that something's sketchy about these guys are spot on.
06:31Though the Russian thug trope is a tired stereotype, there's a good chance these men
06:35are up to no good. It seems a few setups in Episode 2's robbery scene have already paid off,
06:41convincing fans that Valentin and his crew are the main suspects. During the scramble,
06:45the camera focuses on a snake bracelet that's lifted. Several episodes later,
06:50Lori spots a snake tattoo on Alexi's arm.
06:52Oh yeah, you like my snake? I can show you, but it goes all the way down.
06:58I can show you, but it goes all the way down.
07:01This link is pretty blatant, and it's like he's symbolically reminding us that he is a snake.
07:06Snakes are evil. Read the Bible.
07:09Also, while leaving the villa in Episode 5,
07:11one of the men calls out for a watch he may have left behind.
07:16And there is a watch on Alexi's wrist earlier in the episode,
07:20possibly stolen during the heist. Plus, Valentin was distracting Gaitok at the gate when the
07:25burglars rolled up, so if his posse is ultimately culpable, this leaves the ladies in pretty hot
07:31water. Could they be the victims of another armed robbery gone wrong?
07:35She blamed me for the death of her son. But this is not true. It's bullshit.
07:42Gaitok and Mook
07:43Speaking of the robbery scene, fans are not so sure Mook is as innocent as she leads on.
07:55It's possible that she was part of the boutique scheme as well,
07:58considering how much power she has over Gaitok.
08:15The casting of these two was quite intentional, as crush-worthy Mook is played by K-pop superstar
08:20Lisa, and lovesick Gaitok is played by relatively unknown actor Tame Thapthimthong.
08:26This superfan dynamic has left Gaitok quite vulnerable to Mook's mist,
08:30and it seems she has bigger dreams than serving as a health mentor at the White Lotus.
08:34While friendzoning Gaitok, she makes it clear that she fancies the bodyguards and their hefty income.
08:44So the riches secured during the robbery could help her get on her feet.
08:48Be on the lookout for that snake bracelet turning up on her wrist later.
08:52Speaking of the bodyguards, it's important to note that they carry holstered guns,
08:56meaning that they may be in possession of the potential murder weapon.
08:59These arrogant enforcers are quite unkind to Gaitok.
09:06Although they aren't entirely fleshed out, we do know that they protect the Hollingers.
09:10Suritala and her husband Jim are powerful figures who own the White Lotus,
09:14hold great influence in Thailand, and may have a checkered past.
09:18After all, Rick believes Jim has killed before.
09:21So if the Hollingers are involved in sketchy business,
09:24then their menacing bodyguards certainly pose a significant threat to Gaitok,
09:28who's already on their bad side.
09:35Even if the bodyguards aren't responsible for the shooting that kicks the season off,
09:39we can't count out Gaitok or Mook as the perpetrator.
09:42In true White Lotus fashion,
09:44every character is inevitably muddied up and shown to have a rather ugly side.
09:48So their squeaky clean, one-sided romance can't stay pure forever.
09:52Perhaps their odd entanglement with each other
09:55and the mafia-like henchmen could lead to one pulling the trigger.
09:58Rick and Chelsea.
10:00It's easy to see how curmudgeonly Rick could end up on one end of the gun by season's close.
10:05He's on a week-long quest to assassinate Jim Hollinger,
10:08who may or may not have been involved in the murder of Rick's father.
10:28Because my mother told me who he was on her deathbed.
10:32This vendetta has been haunting Rick his whole life,
10:34and the stress management sessions are most definitely not working.
10:38After calling in a favor from an old friend,
10:41Rick finds himself a shiny new weapon,
10:43which there seems to be no shortages of this season.
10:46Though his ire is all directed at Jim,
10:48his girlfriend Chelsea does drop some interesting clues
10:51that he could somehow lead to her demise.
10:53If you kill me, I'll follow you into the next life and the next.
10:57During a key scene, he levels himself on an equal plane as Greg
11:01and comments that they're in the same line of work.
11:04What did you do before you retired?
11:07Uh, this and that.
11:12What about you? What do you do?
11:14Well, the same thing that you do, Gary.
11:17This and that.
11:19Though Rick is likely referencing his mission to take out Jim,
11:22we can't discount how it looks.
11:24As we know, Greg called in a hit on his wife,
11:27so should the same storyline play out, Chelsea's odds are not looking great.
11:32In fact, Chelsea has already had a number of near-death experiences.
11:36First, she was witness to the Brazen robbery where a gun was waved in her face.
11:40Then she was bitten by a venomous snake at the Cobra show.
11:43This could be some Final Destination shit, like death is coming for me.
11:47So it's certainly possible she's already used up some of her lifelines.
11:50Things happen in threes.
11:52Chelsea has emerged as a fan favorite this season,
11:55much like Armand in season one and Tanya in season two.
11:58And as history dictates, these fan favorites are the ones who die in the end.
12:03I've got a really bad feeling.
12:05One popular internet theory is that either Rick or Chelsea
12:08could even sacrifice themselves for the other.
12:10In both of Chelsea's close calls, Rick wasn't there to protect her,
12:14so his ultimate redemptive arc could see him taking a bullet for her.
12:18Inversely, Chelsea has been pleading with Rick to let her help him all season.
12:22And if you don't let me in, if you don't tell me what's going on,
12:24then I can't help you, can I?
12:26So what grander way to save him than to literally fall on the blade for him?
12:30No, I'm gonna help you get your joy back.
12:32Yeah?
12:32Yeah.
12:32Oh.
12:33Even if it kills me.
12:36Chloe and Belinda.
12:38What do these two ladies have in common?
12:40Well, they're in Greg's crosshairs.
12:42And that is never a place you want to be.
12:45They're looking to question him.
12:48Why?
12:49They think he killed his wife.
12:52Let's start with Chloe.
12:55Even if Chelsea ultimately disregards how dangerous her man is,
12:58Chloe is not willing to absolve her sugar daddy Greg.
13:01When discussing a potential fling while their partners are away,
13:04Chloe makes a chilling admission.
13:07For what?
13:07Would he kill you?
13:09No, I just feel terrible.
13:13Well, Gary might kill me.
13:15I honestly think he's capable of it.
13:18Whether or not she's known about his past all along,
13:21she seems eerily aware of just how violent he can be.
13:25Gary's gonna dump me.
13:26Or worse.
13:27I don't know.
13:28When it comes to Belinda,
13:29she has far greater things to worry about in Thailand than the monkeys and lizards.
13:33Since recognizing Greg from their interactions in season one and putting the pieces together,
13:38things have taken a frightening turn for the healer.
13:41There have been numerous instances where she sensed a presence in her room,
13:44as if someone was lurking and closing in on her.
13:47Even more distressing, Greg recognizes her too
13:50and has even asked to meet with her.
13:52Despite pleading to alert authorities that he's hiding out in Thailand,
13:55she's immediately shut down.
13:57Some people here have colorful pasts.
14:00It's really not wise to stir anything up.
14:03I don't think you have anything to worry about.
14:06As long as you focus on yourself and your job,
14:12I think you'll survive.
14:13Fabian's words couldn't be any less comforting for Belinda,
14:16who's hot on the trail.
14:18So if this all catches up to her,
14:20there's no reason why Gary wouldn't silence the one woman who threatens to undo him.
14:25He arranged Tanya's death in season two,
14:27so he could very well arrange or even orchestrate Belinda's death in season three.
14:31I need to deal with something, and I need your help.
14:50Our theory.
14:51All right, so who do we think is season three's ultimate victim?
14:55We're being optimistic here, so this is how we think it'll play out.
14:58Despite all the major setups,
15:00there's a good chance the season's death will be the result of an unforeseeable twist.
15:04In the opening, Belinda's son is dashing around the resort in search of his mom,
15:08fearing for her life amidst the gunfire.
15:15So what could be a more shocking reveal than Belinda being the one wielding the gun?
15:20And her target? Greg.
15:22Considering how unsettled Belinda is,
15:24it wouldn't be shocking if she took matters into her own hands
15:27and acquired a weapon to defend herself.
15:29I think we should talk.
15:34Okay.
15:35So when Greg does come after her, she'll be prepared.
15:38But if Greg is the body in the pool, then what accounts for the multiple gunshots?
15:43While Greg did recruit an entourage of hitmen to carry out Tanya's murder last season,
15:47and he has plenty of options to recruit from in Thailand,
15:51there's the Russian men who seem to have robbed the boutique,
15:53as well as the chauvinist bodyguards.
15:55So we predict that Belinda will take out an army of evil men,
15:59much like her would-be business partner Tanya did on the yacht a season prior.
16:03Digging beyond the screen, when asked why Armand and Tanya were chosen to die,
16:08creator Mike White told interviewers that those characters had reached,
16:11quote, an operatic conclusion and a final swan song,
16:15Considering Greg has had a complete three-season arc,
16:18it feels like he has nowhere else to go.
16:21In a world where the prospect of death is looming over the character's heads all season long,
16:25why ship him off to prison when we can send him to his grave?
16:29Justice for Tanya.
16:31Do you agree with our theory?
16:33Who do you think won't make it out of the finale alive?
