00:02President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. fulfilled his promise last year regarding the addition of services from PhilHealth.

00:11As part of the reforms in the benefit packages that the agency included, the 45-day benefit limit was lifted.

00:19This means that their coverage for the members will continue even if the previous one and a half-month limit has already passed.

00:34The services that PhilHealth will provide will be more.

00:39The payment that will be given to the insurance claim will be bigger.

00:44This is President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s firm promise to the Filipinos before the year 2024 ends.

00:52The President's wish is for the Filipinos to receive more services from PhilHealth.

00:57Just a few months ago, President R. Marcos Jr. fulfilled his promise.

01:03Aside from the increased benefit packages for various medical conditions,

01:07another important step was taken by the agency.

01:10This is the lifting of their 45-day benefit limit.

01:14Under this rule, the maximum hospital confinement of their members will only reach 45 days within a year.

01:21But now, the worries of our fellow Filipinos will be lessened

01:25because their board approved the update to the national police.

01:29PhilHealth lifted the 45-day benefit limit

01:33to ensure that the services of the agency will remain unhindered.

01:38According to PhilHealth,

01:40many services require more than 45 days of coverage,

01:45just like hemodialysis.

01:48According to PhilHealth's Acting President and CEO, Dr. Edwin Mercado,

01:52reform to the so-called Cost Containment Strategy, which he called outdated, is under way.

01:58Mercado is adamant that no one will know or be able to schedule our medical needs.

02:04Many services also require more than 45 days of coverage.

02:08The official also added that PhilHealth wants the Filipinos to have chronic conditions

02:14and that long-term hospitalization is necessary for them to continue receiving health services

02:19that do not require them to worry about their financial capacity.

02:23The agency also reminded that the availability of benefits still needs to go through the right process

02:29and that it needs to comply with the patient's medical needs and treatment plan.

02:34It will also monitor the following health facilities for clinical standards and reimbursement rules.
