00:00This opening day of Keeneland and we are here Friday morning with trainer Danny Gargan and
00:06behind us we have Dornach who will run in the bluegrass tomorrow.
00:09Danny, I know we talked earlier this week about you having to rearrange some travel
00:13plans due to the weather.
00:15How'd that end up working out?
00:17You know, I think it ended up working out well.
00:20We kept him there.
00:21It was pretty.
00:22The weather was good and we were able to train.
00:25Didn't really want to get involved in the tornadoes and the storms or be on the highway
00:29when it was going to be that bad.
00:31So I think everything worked out well.
00:34He shipped in.
00:35He looks great.
00:36Knock on wood, everything keeps going good.
00:39So he got in Thursday morning.
00:41Will he go out today or tomorrow?
00:43He's already gone.
00:44He's done.
00:45We're just going to.
00:46And then tomorrow he'll just walk and we'll just relax and hopefully have a fun day.
00:50So he's put in three works at Palm Meadows since that went in the Fountain of Youth.
00:54Have you seen him progress in the past month?
00:57He's pretty talented in all his works.
00:58I mean, he's a really good workhorse.
01:02We worked him a little stronger last time, wanted to get a strong work in him because
01:06the week before, weather occurred and the track wasn't perfect to our liking.
01:11So we decided to get a little stronger work in him and we're happy with how he came out
01:18of it.
01:19Last year, you talked a lot about him needing to develop mentally.
01:22Have you seen him progress as a three-year-old in that respect?
01:25He's more focused in his training.
01:27He's still a big, he likes to have horses around him.
01:30So it looks like there's going to be a few horses go the lead.
01:35If not, he'll be right there.
01:36We're not taking him back to last or anything crazy, but we'd like to stalk.
01:40He runs a little, if he has competition, I wouldn't say he runs any different.
01:45He just stays more in the bridle, more focused and we just want him to have some competition
01:50and to keep him going.
01:51Yeah.
01:52So you've talked about the goal for this race is for it to be an educational race for him.
01:56What instructions are you giving Luis?
01:59See what happens.
02:00I'm going to tell him to break running and I think there's a couple of horses that are
02:03going to come out of there wanting the lead.
02:05And we'd like to see him sit a length off of it, half a length behind him, and then
02:10just go around following horses so he's not on the lead the whole way.
02:14To get a grade one here at Keeneland with a Kentucky Derby hopeful, what would that
02:19mean for you?
02:20Well, to be a full brother to a derby winner, if he could win a grade one, it could be,
02:26it's life changing.
02:27I mean, if he could win this race, it'd be spectacular.
02:29It'd be great for his resume.
02:30It'd be great for the whole family.
02:32You know, the mayor's probably one of the best mayors in the country, Puka.
02:35She just had a good magic last night.
02:36He has a full brother that hit the ground last night.
02:38He's got a big white blaze and exciting stuff for the whole family.
