00:00Fountain of Youth runner-up In Due Time will need to get the win in this weekend's Stone
00:07Street Lexington Stakes in order to have a shot at the Kentucky Derby.
00:11We spoke with his connections, trainer Kelly Breen, and his partnership, Edge Racing.
00:17We purchased In Due Time at the OBS April sale and Nick Hines and I, who run and manage
00:23Edge Racing, found him and obviously he was just an athlete to us and we got him at an
00:27affordable price and that was the biggest thing for us.
00:32We believed when we were starting him off as a two-year-old that he had the ability
00:36to be a really nice horse after he won his first race.
00:40We did decide to give him some time off.
00:43He ran well in his second start back.
00:45He won stretching out in distance, pointed him towards the derby trail.
00:50In his last race, he runs second in the Fountain of Youth and was the first time where I saw
00:56him was a little tired.
00:58He did bounce back and within 48 hours that he was back to normal.
01:03So the time in between races, I know if we were to run well in the Lexington, it's only
01:08three races or three weeks until the derby, but that extended time that he had in between
01:13his last race and this race, I think is just going to help him perform better.
01:17Edge Racing, it's a spinoff in the syndicate off of MyRaceHorse.com and it's just more
01:22of your traditional syndicate.
01:24Some of the owners that were ready to take the next step that came from MyRaceHorse.com
01:28and take a little bigger piece of ownership and go on this journey.
01:32After the allowance race, Medallion Racing, which is a partnership of TaylorMade and Parkland
01:37Stables joined us on this journey and we're excited.
01:40Anytime we get to compete in these big races and fingers crossed, a win could get us in
01:44the derby.
01:45There's nothing more fun than that and to celebrate it with more people is even better.
01:50So he breezed over the Keeneland track on a track labeled Muddy, wasn't the fastest
01:55of workouts, it was just the maintenance and since he's been here, he's been doing well.
02:00We drew the two posts out of 11, ideally like to see him forwardly placed because he is
02:05a kind of horse that if we ask him for speed, I think that we'll have the speed.
02:09So now we're going back to if we will make it to the derby or not determines on this
02:15race coming up, but he's a nice horse.
02:18Regardless if we make it to the derby or not, I believe that he's a nice horse and
02:23there's a long three-year-old campaign, like to have some fun with him and run in some
02:27nice races.
02:28I want to say we have almost 25 people bringing family, friends from all over.
02:33That's the best part.
02:34We have people from California, Florida, New York, Chicago, so it is really cool to see
02:38all these people and on a day like this, all due to one horse come and meet up.
02:43As Kelly has always kind of told us and Paco has ridden him, said he's going to just get
02:47better with more distance and time.
02:50You know, we didn't start till November of 2020, but this is really our first journey
02:54on the derby trail.
02:55So it's sure exciting in a short period of time to be able to do it.
02:59The derby is the derby.
03:00Everybody talks about it.
03:02It's the race of races.
03:03It's been a couple of years since I've been back.
03:05My kids never asked about races before and they're like, are we going to the derby this
03:09year?
03:10So you do have the excitement.
03:11There's nothing here in Kentucky like the Kentucky Derby.
03:17The Kentucky Derby.
03:18The Kentucky Derby.
