00:00Tremors were felt across several parts of Malaysia on Tuesday morning
00:06following a moderate earthquake off the west coast of North Sumatra, Indonesia.
00:11According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department,
00:14the earthquake, measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale,
00:17occurred at 6.22 am at a depth of 10 km.
00:22It was located 41 km east of Sibolga.
00:26Residents in Perlis, Gedap, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya,
00:32Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor reported experiencing tremors.
00:37However, MetMalaysia has confirmed that the earthquake poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
