00:00is Telangana now facing difficulty in paying salaries? Is there a massive cash crunch in
00:09the state? Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister has said, unable to pay the dearness allowance
00:14and this is a big admission. Let's listen into what he's saying.
00:18Every month, on the first of every month, we have to pay our salaries. I would like to
00:23request our government employees to pay their salaries on the first of every month and
00:30provide some services to the government. It will take some time. Whatever we do today,
00:37this system will also be affected. To pay our salaries on the first of every month, we
00:42have to pay our salaries on the first of every month.
01:13You have a legitimate right to pay your salary on the first of every month.
01:17But to pay your salaries on the first of every month...
01:22Abdul Basheer is joining me on the phone line. Abdul, this is concerning. After Karnataka
01:26and even Himachal Pradesh, Congress governed states, comes another Telangana. Tell us more
01:31about what is the problem coming out of the cash crunch in Telangana.
01:36Well, what we are learning is that the Telangana Chief Minister, in a reply to the Legislative
01:41Council of Telangana, has stated that the government is finding it difficult to pay
01:48salaries to the employees on the first of every month, for which the Telangana government
01:53is seeking a handloan, a loan from the Reserve Bank of India of about 4,000 crores. And that
02:02is how they are able to pay their salaries. When it comes to the DA and the other expenses
02:07that are pending for the government employees, it is very difficult for the government to
02:12even pay salaries. So how would it be possible to pay the DAs and all? So the Chief Minister
02:19has stated that he will give all the accounts to the government employees and he has asked
02:24them to decide what is to be paid first, whether the salaries or whether the DAs or the other
02:29pending issues, and they can decide as to what to be given. And the DAs have a legitimate
02:34right and demand of the employees and the Chief Minister has insisted not to request
02:39on giving the DAs and the extra allowances. And depending on the present financial situation
02:46of the state...
02:47We will be tracking this because remember after Himachal Karnataka, now even Telangana's
02:50Chief Minister is saying we are facing a cash crunch and unable to pay salaries. Let's get
02:54more details on this in days to come, especially who will be impacted the most because of this.
