00:00I would like to congratulate the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the National Assembly,
00:09and call on the people to take action.
00:12A lot of effort needs to be done by the government in the next 24 months.
00:18I would like to say to the DAP,
00:22we hope that the government will bring two more changes to the National Assembly
00:28in the next two years.
00:31The first is to move the National Assembly to extend the Prime Minister's term of office
00:39to a maximum of 10 years.
00:41This is an announcement in the manifesto of the Hope Alliance at the last PRU.
00:48We are not asking for Dato' Sri Anwar Ibrahim to stop,
00:54but we want to make a change so that this becomes the legacy of Dato' Sri Anwar Ibrahim
01:01to bring reformation in our country's administration system.
01:05But today, we also want to emphasize that the DAP is committed to continue to support Dato' Sri Anwar Ibrahim
01:13to continue to hold the Prime Minister's term of office after the 16th PRU.
01:18Regardless of the new political configuration,
01:21whether it is in the current coalition government mode,
01:25or any other new configuration,
01:29we will continue to hold on to the belief that
01:34those who will represent the Hope Alliance as Prime Minister,
01:38there will be no second candidate other than Dato' Sri Anwar Ibrahim.
01:43Secondly, we also hope and will support the move of the National Assembly
01:48to implement the separation of powers between state lawyers and people's lawyers.
01:54There is a suggestion that I agree with,
01:57extending the Prime Minister's term of office to 10 years.
02:02Because we know that if it is extended to 22 years, the country will be big.
02:08I agree.
02:11But we are calling for the support of all parties,
02:16so that there will be a third party.
02:19Don't worry.
02:20It is impossible for me to extend the term of office to 10 years.
02:26I have been tired for two years.
02:29But, ladies and gentlemen,
02:31in terms of justice and PH,
02:36we agree.
02:38But we have to build.
02:40This is what has been discussed in terms of consultation and agreement.
02:45We have to emphasize and listen.
02:48If there is a willingness, 2 out of 3.
02:51If there is an agreement, 2 out of 3.
02:54The session will come, we can move.
02:57But, don't take the principle,
03:01if it is not enough,
03:02because no matter what the opposition says,
03:05we cannot believe it because it can change.
03:08It can change with time.
