00:17Eight people were killed in Kansas after heavy winds produced blowing dust on a major highway
00:21causing collisions of more than 50 vehicles.
00:24Six people were killed and three were reported missing as the storms ripped through Mississippi,
00:29according to Governor Tate Reeves.
00:32At least 12 were killed in Missouri, which recorded the most fatalities from all affected
00:36states as it suffered scattered twisters.
00:39A state of emergency was declared by governors of Mississippi, Georgia, Arkansas and Oklahoma
00:45who are bracing for even more severe conditions.
00:48The storms triggered more than 100 wildfires.
00:51Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stills says blazes in his state burnt an area of almost 700 square
00:56kilometers.
