01:24to get a look, there you go, and come on then, give us a few names of the staff here so people

02:06comes from Hull, and grand opening today, you've had a busy morning by the sound of
02:11it.
02:12It's been really successful, and yeah, we're just so happy to be opening the first Starbucks
02:17in Skegness.
02:18We've always had a little bit of a problem with footfall at this end of the town, hopefully
02:23this will cure it, you've got the car park, the boating lake and everything behind you,
02:27you're going to have Trammell Lodge opening very very shortly, I think at the end of the
02:31summer maybe, you've got the hotels, let's hope, you know, hats off, let's get it working.
02:38And have you got a message for anybody?
02:41Yeah, it's just great to be here, it's been a great welcome as well, so thank you to everybody
02:45in Skegness for the warm welcome, and yeah, come in and see us, it's a gorgeous store
02:50and super proud of the team as well.
02:53So there you go, if you come in and Mel's about, she's prairie friendly, she'll talk
02:57to you.
02:58There's all the staff working frantically behind the bar there, but not even the bar,
03:03it's a counter serving coffee.
03:06And er...
03:26That's a couple of dogs enjoying, what have they got?
03:30It's a drink.
03:32Oh, it's a dog drink.
03:35Apparently, yeah.
03:36It's not ice cream, it's a Starbucks doggy drink, we'll find out what that is in a minute.
03:44But yeah, there you go, you can bring your dogs in, it's very dog friendly.
03:49It's part of Keys Rescue Dogsies, this will be one of Starbucks' charities this year.
03:56So, there you go, look at that, really enjoying that.
04:05And here's another one, another one enjoying a drink.
04:11Was you enjoying that?
04:14Have I stopped you now, have I?
04:17There you go, as I say, very dog friendly, Keys Rescue Dogs are here today, one of the
04:22charities.
04:23Can you tell us a bit about it, the charity?
04:25Do you want to tell them a bit about the charity?
04:27Do you want to tell them a little bit about your charity?
04:29Well, Keith started 25 years ago, and I was one of the first to join, so I've been 25
04:37years.
04:38I'm a trustee and a volunteer, and I work, obviously, in the shop.
04:44And I'm guessing always looking for volunteers?
04:47Absolutely, always.
04:49So, the dogs have just had a drink, yeah.
04:52No, ice cream.
04:53Cup of tea.
04:54Ice cream.
04:55It's very clean, a cup of tea.
04:57What is it again?
04:58A pop-up cup.
04:59A pop-up cup.
05:00So it's literally just squirty cream.
05:01Yeah, well, it's squirty cream in a cup, there you go.
05:03So, if you're coming to visit, and you want to buy a coffee, and you're more than welcome
05:07to have a pop-up cup of tea.
05:09There's none left in that one.
05:11But yeah, it's, you know, if you're down this end, big car park to the left, you've got
05:16the, you've got the Ferrydale paddling pool, literally right next to it.
05:22So you can, you know, bring the kids in, get a coffee, take it back to the Ferrydale paddling
05:27pool as well, and, you know.
05:32Oh, did you like it?
05:36Yeah, it's just squirty cream, it's squirty cream.
05:47So there you go, that's the grand opening of Starbucks.
05:51Very friendly place.
05:54It's not where I actually go in these, but it is very clean, tidy as it should be.
06:00And plenty of drinks, doggy drinks, bring your dogs in, bring your kids in.
06:06And hopefully they'll be pleased to serve you.
06:10Right, we're with Liz here, and it's gone very quiet there.
06:15You're in Starbucks.
06:16I don't know whether you was in the first hundred or not.
06:19Did you get your free cup?
06:20No.
06:21So we're here this morning at six o'clock.
06:23What do you think, your impressions?
06:25I mean, it's lovely, it's really new and fresh.
06:29And you'll be using it?
06:31Yeah.
06:32As I said to people, you've got the paddling pool over the road, whereas before you couldn't
06:36get a drink or anything when you was in the paddling pool, now you'll be able to get one
06:40and probably a bun or whatever, which will make the facilities more usable.
06:44Definitely, yeah.
06:46You can do that.
06:47Well, there you go, look.
06:51We're with Sue now, and Max.
06:54And your impressions of Starbucks?
06:56Lovely, best hot chocolate.
06:59There you go, look, it is a Starbucks cup.
07:01Did you manage to get one of the free cups?
07:03No, I didn't.
07:04No?
07:05We believe there was about a hundred this morning, but I saw some parts of it quite
07:11earlier on and it was so busy, it was unbelievable.
07:13Yeah, I did see it this morning on the Facebook.
07:16Yeah, but you'll be using it?
07:19Oh yes, 100%.
07:21Thank you very much, Sue.
07:23So there we go, back at the counter again.
07:25Busy morning?
07:26Yeah, pretty busy.
07:28I think we did 30 parts.
07:31Well, let's ask the interesting question.
07:33How long did it take to give away the 100 mugs?
07:35First hour and a half.
07:37Hour and a half.
07:38So, if you haven't got one, you've missed out, but I believe you can still buy one.
07:42Most people will want one.
07:44I saw them when I came in.
07:47So, hour and a half to shift 100 mugs, that's going somewhere.
07:51You opened at 6 o'clock, I believe it was?
07:53Yes.
07:54And you are local?
07:55Am I local?
07:56Yeah.
07:57Yeah.
07:58So there you go, loads of the jobs were created by locals.
08:01Wide selection.
08:05Charity houses.
08:06So, here we go then, we're with Pam, Keese Rescues.
08:09Tell us why you're here today and you can tell us a bit about the rescue dogs as well.
08:15Yeah.
08:16We've been a charity since 2002.
08:19And we're a local charity, Lincolnshire only.
08:22And we don't raise as much funds as the big charities because we are only local.
08:28But we do our best and help local people.
08:31Home check's carried out, mainly for a fenced-in boundary.
08:35And then if we've got the right type of dog and the right type of family, the family go and view the dog.
08:41And they can walk it up and down several times, several days before they decide whether they want the dog or not.
08:46And what made you come here this morning?
08:49We were invited.
08:50You were invited?
08:51We wanted to support a local charity.
08:52And we are, I believe, the only local charity, apart from all the big ones that's got shops in town.
08:57Yeah.
09:00Yeah, they've got the children's home and things like that.
09:03Yes.
09:04Yeah.
09:05Derbyshire or Nottingham, I believe.
09:07Yeah.
09:08Yeah.
09:09So we were invited to come down and we've seen a couple of the dogs eating and drinking.
09:13Yeah, there's plenty of dogs in the kennels.
09:15They've got a shop in Lumley Road.
09:17Yes, we have.
09:18So, you know, again, it's a charity shop.
09:21Pop in, every penny you spend, it doesn't matter if it's a penny or a pound.
09:25That's exactly right.
09:26It all helps towards the dogs.
09:28It does, definitely.
09:29Everything goes for the dogs.
09:30And we do have veterinary care for them.
09:33If they come in and they're not muted or they need teeth seen to, it's all done at the charity's expense.
09:38They're microchipped, muted, everything that they need before they go out.
09:43Thank you very much.
09:44Okay, thank you.
