A thief who murdered an Amazon delivery driver has been jailed for a minimum term of 30 years at Leeds Crown Court. Claudiu Carol Kondor was delivering parcels in Leeds last year when Mark Ross tried to steal his van, a court heard. Mr Kondor clung onto the vehicle as the defendant hit speeds of up to 60mph before hitting two parked cars. Mr Kondor died from head and chest injuries from the collision, the court heard. 00:00On the 20th of August last year, Claudio Carl Condor was delivering Amazon packages in the Armley area of Leeds.
00:11You seized the opportunity to steal his van, intending to sell it,
00:17something, you told the jury, that you had done before and had not been caught for,

00:28Mr Condor tried to stop you by opening the passenger door, but could not get into the vehicle as you drove away.
00:36You accelerated hard. Mr Condor, whose legs were dangling onto the road,
00:42was crushed, thrown off the van and tumbled down the road, coming to rest on the pavement,

00:56He died on the pavement despite attempts at resuscitation.
01:01There was a fracture to his skull, bleeding over the brain and a large amount of bleeding into the brain stem.
01:08His diaphragm was torn, there was complete cutting through the aorta and multiple rib fractures.
01:16He died from those head and chest injuries within seconds of being crushed.
01:22For the murder of Claudio Condor, the sentence of the court is imprisonment for life.
