Since the Beetle, Volkswagen has been enabling affordable mobility for millions of people with compact and likeable cars. With the ID. EVERY1 concept car, the German car manufacturer is now showing an entry-level all-electric model. Volkswagen will launch the production version in 2027 – with a starting price of around 20,000 euros. The ID. 2all will already be launched in the 25,000-euro class in 2026. Both models are part of the new Electric Urban Car Family with front-wheel drive, which is being developed on a cross-brand basis under the umbrella of the Brand Group Core – comprising the volume brands in the Volkswagen Group. They are based on Volkswagen’s new modular electric drive platform: the MEB with front-wheel drive.

00:00Thank you. Hello, ID everyone. So glad to see you. One thing is clear, this is not just
00:17any small electric car. It is a true innovation driver, something that once again sets new
00:24standards for Volkswagen. Kai Grünitz, our CTO and his team have poured their heart and
00:31soul into developing this model. And nobody could explain the idea behind the car better
00:38than Kai himself. Kai, come on over. Please welcome Kai Grünitz, member of the board
00:47of the Volkswagen brand technical development. Yeah, thank you, Thomas, for the very warm
00:55welcome. To be honest, I couldn't wait for this great reveal because for me, it's an
01:01amazing car. And to be honest, it is even much more. For some companies, developing
01:10a software-defined vehicle is the most important topic for their future. But let's be honest,
01:17software that defines a car, really, is this the right approach? We at Volkswagen, we believe
01:26the customers should be at the center of our doing. Their needs, their interests, their
01:32preferences. From the very first brainstorming for a new car, in our daily work, when we design,
01:40develop and test a new product, customers is a good keyword, because the name of our small
01:47car says it all. ID everyone. And it's not just a play on words with a number one. It also shows
01:56who the car's customers are. Everyone. It is driven by young people as well as older people,
02:04from beginners to old hands, as an everyday car or as a second car. And let's not forget
02:10our commercial customers, such as delivery services or care services. From the very beginning,
02:18we took a close look at what these customers want and need and derived functions and interior
02:25concepts from this. And the result? That's the ID everyone. A real Volkswagen. That's why we are not
02:34developing a pure software-defined vehicle. We are developing a customer-defined vehicle. A car that
02:41supports its driver in everyday life. One that simply fits like your favorite sneaker. A car that
02:49perfectly and seamlessly integrates the digital life of its driver and other passengers.
02:55A car that is highly updatable, as we all know it from our smartphones. But this requires a
03:02rethought, redesigned, high-performance software architecture. And because we are Volkswagen,
03:09we are not using it in the most expensive vehicles first. We are delivering bottom-up. The
03:15production version of the ID everyone will be the very first car in the Volkswagen Group to get this
03:21new software architecture. It will be ready as early as 2027. It will be one of the most modern
03:29and performance software architectures in the entire industry and affordable for many.
03:35Ladies and gentlemen, the ID everyone is 100% Volkswagen. Also in terms of its look.
