00:00Various government agencies are working hard to prepare for the rehabilitation of EDSA.

00:07What are the expectations of motorists and commuters in the coming days?

00:20Patrick, one of the preparations of DOT or DPWH and MMDA is the heavy traffic.

00:27When EDSA rehabilitation starts, they will come up with a complete plan

00:32including the traffic management plan to prepare motorists and commuters.

00:42Dept. of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizo announced that in April,

00:47the rehabilitation of EDSA will start instead of this March.

00:51He is continuously planning plans for the said project.

00:55Among the preparations is the release of visas for motorists and commuters who regularly pass through EDSA.

01:04The plan is important because this rehabilitation will last for one year,

01:08for ASEAN next year.

01:11So, the plan is also important.

01:14It will be hard for us to go back and forth because our countrymen will be hungry.

01:21The DOT or DPWH, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority,

01:28and the government will work together to ensure a proper rehabilitation.

01:33They are preparing the possible heavy traffic for the start of the project.

01:40What we can do is to manage the traffic well, especially the rerouting and advisory.

01:48The complete plan is expected to be released to the public next week.

01:53DPWH first announced that they will use reinforced concrete

01:58to make the road more stable against the heavy traffic.

02:03There will also be an asphalt overlay with anti-rotting and anti-cracking features

02:09to make the road more durable.

02:13In addition, the drainage system will be strengthened using high-density polyethylene pipes

02:18to avoid flooding and road damage.

02:24Patrick, the cars on the EDSA Monument will run faster.

02:30Let us remind our motorists that this Friday,

02:33the number 9 and 0 plates are not allowed from 7am to 10am,

02:40and from 5pm to 8pm.
