We asked Edinburgh residents what is the best thing about living in the capital?
Transcript
00:00For me it's a very walkable city. There's so much history, there's so much culture here
00:11and there's more to it than just kind of what a lot of people see in the city centre. Going
00:17out to Leith or Camel, there's so many historical sites around here as well. I'm a tour guide
00:22so I'm always trying to promote people going a bit further out of the city and seeing more
00:27of it. But I'm born and bred here, I love the history, I love the culture, I love promoting
00:32that and I think there's so much more to see in Edinburgh than just the kind of touristy
00:38stuff that's in the city centre. So I would always encourage people to go further and
00:41that's one thing that I really love about it.
00:44The green space, the contours, the hills, the people, the things to do, the culture,
00:53what more do you want beyond that?
00:55The size of it, you know, it's a small city. You can get around it, we've just walked from
01:02Leith to Morningside and back again. You can get through the whole thing on foot. I think
01:07we've got great public transport. I think Lothian buses are great. I use public transport
01:14all the time, although I'm a car owner. I think we're very lucky. We could do with more
01:19loo's and bins. But other than that, I think it's a fabulous city. It's small, it's beautiful.
01:28It needs stuff done, it needs something sorted out with Princess Street. It's disgraceful.
01:35But other than that, it's a beautiful city and we're so lucky to have so many green spaces.
