Morgan Motor Company revealed its latest flagship model, the Supersport, in a livestreamed event hosted by British presenter Richard Hammond. With 70% of Supersport production expected to be exported, Morgan is reinforcing its presence in key international markets, particularly in Europe, Middle East and East Asia, where demand for its highly bespoke, hand-built vehicles remains strong. The company has built a loyal following for its distinctive blend of heritage craftsmanship and modern performance, and this latest launch marks a significant step in its global expansion.

Blending cutting-edge engineering with the marque’s signature handcrafted aesthetic, the Supersport delivers a refined yet exhilarating driving experience – launching at a time of growing uncertainty over the future of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in the UK.

Amidst shifting automotive regulations, Morgan’s Managing Director, Matthew Hole, is calling on the UK government to provide clarity on the ICE ban, warning that continued uncertainty threatens investment, jobs, and the ability of companies like Morgan to plan for the future. With current legislation set to prevent the sale of pure-ICE vehicles in the UK by 2030, Hole is urging policymakers to address the industry’s concerns and provide clear guidance.

The new Supersport, crafted at Morgan’s Malvern facility, aligns with the company’s sustainability commitment. 95% of its parts are sourced within Britain, while its chassis and body are made from lightweight aluminium containing 60% recycled content. A zero-waste-to-landfill strategy is in place, and all leather used in the interior is a by-product of the food industry.

Designed for modern touring, the new model features a lightweight carbon composite hard top and a folding mohair soft top, offering two distinct driving experiences. A redesigned interior integrates Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and an advanced Sennheiser audio system, elevating usability without compromising Morgan’s timeless aesthetic.

At the heart of the Supersport is a BMW B58 TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine, paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox, optimized aerodynamics, and a refined chassis – reinforcing Morgan’s commitment to delivering pure driving enjoyment.

00:00The next chapter, a new flagship for a new generation of Morgan,
00:05the much-anticipated Morgan Supersport.
00:10This is it. The moment is nearly here, but before we do it,
00:13I'd like to introduce you to Matthew Hull, Morgan's Managing Director.
00:16Hi, Matt. Hi, Richard.
00:18This is a car that we've been developing for the last three, three and a half years.
00:21It coincides with me beginning my journey at Morgan three and a half years ago,
00:25so this will be the first car that I'll have launched.
00:29But also there's a sense of pride amongst all the staff here in the factory,
00:33and particularly I'm proud of them for getting us here today.
00:36This is the world's first look at the new Morgan Supersport.
00:41This is it. Roll the VT.
00:58The world's first look at the new Morgan Supersport
01:13Ladies and gentlemen,
01:16the new Morgan Supersport.
01:19Morgan's Chief Design Officer, Jonathan Wells. Hi, Jon.
01:22Hi, Richard.
01:23This is such a day for you. How are you feeling?
01:25Really good, really good.
01:26About 250, I'm guessing?
01:28Yeah, something like that.
01:30Walking out there, I mean, that is a massive moment in a career, isn't it?
01:33I know. What a good reaction.
01:34First time they've been seen.
01:35We're very proud. Thank you so much.
01:37I'm guessing from the audience reaction in here,
01:39so far it's gone well, yeah? We're happy?
01:41It's gone well. That's good.
01:44So far, so good.
01:45Your job here, your role, is to lead every new Morgan
01:49all the way from concept to reality.
01:52Yes. Ultimately, Supersport has been the whole team's
01:55real passion project for quite a few years now.
01:58Whilst it's been actively in development for three years,
02:01we've been imagining what a successor to the Aero,
02:04our last flagship performance contemporary car in 2018,
02:07could look like.
02:08So we've been imagining different shapes and lines,
02:11and what started out primarily as a styling exercise
02:14really has become a fundamental ground-up redesign.
02:17The underpinnings of Supersport are totally reinvented.
02:20This is an iteration of our platform we call the CX-V platform.
02:23It's the most capable, most dynamic.
02:26It's a lot more compliant, fun to drive and really usable.
02:28You can use this car 365 days a year.
02:32And we spent a lot of time looking at the interior cabin
02:34and where you really spend your time.
02:36We didn't want the focus to be a big screen,
02:39an LCD display in the middle.
02:41However, we recognise that technology is important.
02:44So when you do step into this car,
02:46you can connect your phone, place it on the centre,
02:48it charges wirelessly.
02:50There is a full Sennheiser...
02:51I know, it's...
02:52Again, what?
02:54You can wirelessly charge your telephone in a Morgan.
02:57In a Morgan.
02:59But it's fully connected.
03:00So we've got a totally overhauled sound system
03:02developed in Switzerland with Sennheiser.
03:04The sound quality is incredible.
03:05There's subwoofers and actuators.
03:07You can take phone calls, skip tracks.
03:11Yeah, it does that all the time.
03:13However, what is key for us is that isn't the centre stage.
03:16It's invisible technology.
03:18So on behalf of everyone here today,
03:20all of us and all of you,
03:22we all wish you goodbye, farewell and thanks for joining us.
03:25It's finally here!
