00:00It's hard to believe that just 24 hours ago the main street of where I'm standing here
00:07in Laidley was covered with water, floodwaters ravaging this part of town and you can see
00:12some of the damage already just on this pub that's been newly renovated by a Brisbane
00:15couple.
00:16Pavers are up, mud is everywhere, but it's important to know that also people are out
00:21and about ready to get the community back in order.
00:23While those floodwaters quickly receded, today an ADF personnel were deployed to assist with
00:29the cleanups as needed.
00:30There's still a bit of mud around and still a bit of work to be done.
00:33We can hear generators in pretty much every business in the main street and also lots
00:37of people on the gurneys, on the brooms ready to clean up.
00:40We've got pavers being put back in place, kicked in by lots of kids, people that are
00:45really just a part of this community and want to show anyone that's coming through town
00:48to see what's happened, what they're made of.
00:50And of course the community really did prepare, they heeded the warning of what this weather
00:55system might bring.
00:56Lots of these shops had sandbags in front of them, but it didn't really reduce too much
01:01of the flooding that was going to occur, so now it's just moving into the recovery phase
01:06and keeping a positive outlook as the community tries to rebuild.
