00:00PNP suspected that there are 7,000 police who are ready to arrest the former President Duterte,
00:07Quanzel Bacobo, or Bocobo of the IBC in the national news.
00:13PNP spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo suspected
00:18that there are 7,000 police who are ready to arrest the former President Rodrigo Duterte.
00:25This is the basis of the allegation that the International Criminal Court or ICC
00:31has violated the warrant of arrest because of the extrajudicial killing case of the former President.
00:36In addition to PNP, they do not have verified information about the warrant of arrest against the former President.
00:44And the increase of police in Davao and even in other regions is only because of the preparation for the election.
00:52This is not true, sir.
00:54Like I said, if we see movements and skills and movements of our people on the ground,
01:02this is still part of our security preparation for the election.
01:06There is no official conversation between PNP and the International Criminal Police Organization or Interpol.
01:14But if Interpol issues a request of assistance to PNP and a warrant of arrest,
01:21the entire PNP is obligated to follow up because the Philippines is a member state of Interpol.
01:26The classic example is the case of Alice Guo.
01:29She hid in Indonesia and since Indonesia is a member state, we asked for help from Interpol.
01:36And since the PNP is a member of the International Criminal Police Organization,
01:42then we are duty-bound to accord the same courtesy accorded to us by the other foreign states.
01:50PNP also gave notice that they have no plan to raise the alert about the spreading issue.
01:56The notice should come directly from Interpol and not from the ICC before they take action.
02:04The ICC has no way to directly give orders to PNP or any other law enforcement for that matter.
02:14We have no role to play if the ICC issues a warrant of arrest
02:21because what we are assuming is that they will seek the assistance of Interpol.
02:25PNP is still waiting for the outcome of the ICC's investigation
02:31on the warrant of arrest that could be issued against former President Rodrigo Duterte.
02:38From IBC 13, Quenzel Bocobo, for Balitang Pambansa.
02:44For Balitang Pambansa.
