Eines Nachts fällt im kleinen Dorf Hurmevaara ein Meteorit durch das Dach eines Autos. Der Bürgermeister von Klein-Sibirien sieht darin eine große Chance für das sterbende Dorf und lässt ihn vom Dorfpriester Joel bewachen, bis er zu Begutachtung nach London gebracht wird. Während Joel den kostbaren Meteoriten vor Amateur- und Profikriminellen beschützt, hat er noch ein privates Problem. Seine Frau ist schwanger, obwohl Joel eigentlich keine Kinder bekommen kann.
