00:00Hello. Well first of all I just want to say when Christina reached out to me to
00:05do this I'm so honored. I like I can't tell you I'm gonna get teary because you
00:10hold such a special place in my heart and I mean what was shocking to me was I
00:17can't believe that you don't already have 40 stars you know because that we
00:22just heard that long list of credits now I have them here too and when I because
00:27I you know I didn't know whether they were gonna be mentioned or not and I was
00:30like my god this so a Hollywood Walk of Fame they honor so many different things
00:38but I think that because Hollywood is so famous as a film town the the place of
00:42these stars in cinema is something that we all really associate it with and
00:46every single person who dreamed of being in movies as a kid or making movies as a
00:51kid this is a special thing you know to have this star and and it really takes
00:58like one great memory or impression to be somebody who deserves one of those
01:03stars but Christina has like 59 like what's going on with that you actually
01:09have done 59 movies that's movies that's not short films or television like it's
01:14insane and they're so good and so very very different and so you know I was
01:22lucky enough to get to make Monster with Christina and it was such a profoundly
01:28beautiful experience and I I have always felt that actually it was such an
01:35incredibly brave performance that Christina gave that because what
01:39Charlize did was so shocking to everybody that it never got talked about
01:44enough that you really you took you took the unglamorous unlikable role and you
01:50played it with such commitment and it's such a stunning performance every time I
01:56rewatch the film I'm like my god Christina's like a hero she knew she was
02:00never you even we talked about it at the time you were like it's not the glory
02:03role for me but I believe in the project and you took one for the team and you
02:07played this glorious thing to set up somebody else's performance incredible
02:11but the interesting thing about how Christina got cast was I actually
02:16thought Christina was too good-looking for the role because we'd already cast
02:20Charlize Theron and you know we were already the laughingstock it people
02:24thought you know Charlize Theron before they saw what we were gonna do but
02:28actually I did a chemistry time be so lucky to get her to say yes the
02:34interesting thing was when I did a chemistry test with Christina and
02:38Charlize I was like nothing I'd ever seen I have seen Charlize around a
02:42million people she's a big powerful presence can be very intimidating and
02:46people just disappeared around her I would put her opposite other people and
02:50they would just go silent and I remember so young you're so young at the time and
02:55in comes Charlize you know big energy and in comes Christina okay thank you
03:00and I was like oh my god this is the most secretly powerful person I have
03:06ever seen in my life she's a dynamo she's so intelligent she clearly has
03:12such good taste and the last thing I want to say is really to act I think
03:18people don't always understand what acting is you have to live those parts
03:21some part of you has to take that into your spirit I know that when we did
03:25monster it was very taxing because that story actually has to kind of live and
03:29breathe inside of you I'm so grateful for the amount of different characters
03:33that you've taken on and the the things that you've done for us as an artist and
03:39I honor it I love you so much Christina I'm so honored to be here I'm so proud
03:45of you and the career that you have made and I've loved watching you every step
03:49of the way so congratulations Christina I love you
