Trump reads out a supposed 'apology letter' from Zelensky during a Congress speech, making a major Russia-Ukraine announcement. The letter’s authenticity sparks debate as Trump claims Zelensky admitted strategic missteps. The speech raises new questions about U.S. policy on the ongoing war and future aid to Ukraine.

00:00Earlier today, I received an important letter from President Zelensky of Ukraine.
00:06The letter reads, Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible
00:11to bring lasting peace closer.
00:14Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians, he said.
00:17My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump's strong leadership to get a peace that
00:24lasts.
00:26We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and
00:32independence.
00:33Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time that
00:40is convenient for you.
00:42I appreciate that he sent this letter, just got it a little while ago.
00:47Simultaneously, we've had serious discussions with Russia and have received strong signals
00:53that they are ready for peace.
00:55Wouldn't that be beautiful?
00:56Wouldn't that be beautiful?
01:10Wouldn't that be beautiful?
01:18It's time to stop this madness.
01:20It's time to halt the killing.
01:23It's time to end this senseless war.
01:25If you want to end wars, you have to talk to both sides.
01:29Nearly four years ago, amid rising tensions, a history teacher named Mark Fogle was detained
01:36in Russia and sentenced to 14 years in a penal colony.
01:41Rough stuff.
01:43The previous administration barely lifted a finger to help him.
01:47They knew he was innocent, but they had no idea where to begin.
01:51And last summer, I promised his 95-year-old mother, Malfeen, that we would bring her boy
01:58safely back home.
02:02After 22 days in office, I did just that, and they are here tonight.
02:36To Mark and his great mom, we are delighted to have you safe and sound and with us.
02:55As fate would have it, Mark Fogle was born in a small rural town in Butler, Pennsylvania
03:03— have you heard of it? — where his mother has lived for the past 78 years.
03:09I just happened to go there last July 13th for a rally.
03:15That was not pleasant.
03:18And that is where I met his beautiful mom right before I walked onto that stage.
03:26And I told her I would not forget what she said about her son, and I never did, did I?
03:32Never forgot.
03:33Less than 10 minutes later, at that same rally, gunfire rang out, and a sick and deranged
03:43assassin unloaded eight bullets from his sniper's perch into a crowd of many thousands of people.
03:50My life was saved by a fraction of an inch, but some were not so lucky.
03:57Corey Comparator was a firefighter, a veteran, a Christian, a husband, a devoted father,
04:05and above all, a protector.
04:08When the sound of gunshots pierced the air, it was a horrible sound.
04:13Corey knew instantly what it was and what to do.
04:18He threw himself on top of his wife and daughters and shielded them from the bullets with his
04:24own body.
04:28Corey was hit really hard.
04:30You know the story from there.
04:32He sacrificed his life to save theirs.
04:35Two others, very fine people, were also seriously hit.
04:40But thankfully, with the help of two great country doctors — we thought they were gone
04:46and they were saved, so those doctors had great talent — were joined by Corey's wife
04:53Helen, who was his high school sweetheart, and their two beloved daughters, Allison and
05:00Kaylee.
05:36To Helen, Allison, and Kaylee, Corey is looking down on his three beautiful ladies right now,
05:43and he is cheering you on.
05:45He loves you.
05:46He is cheering you on.
05:48Corey was taken from us much too soon, but his destiny was to leave us all with a shining
05:54example of the selfless devotion of a true American patriot.
06:00It was love like Corey's that built our country, and it's love like Corey's that is going to
06:04make our country more majestic than ever before.
06:09I believe that my life was saved that day in Butler for a very good reason.
06:15I was saved by God to make America great again.
06:18I believe that.
06:37Don't miss out.
