00:07the Hindu religion on social media, warning that a failure to do so would risk creating

00:11the perception of selective prosecution.

00:15He said action had been taken against ERA FM staff Harith Iskandar and Cecilia Yap for

00:20similar cases and allowing Zamri to go unpunished would send the wrong message.

00:26Ramkarpal said Zamri's comments violated Sections 504 and 505 of the Penal Code, as

00:31Section 504 addresses insults meant to provoke a breach of peace, while Section 505 concerns

00:36statements that incite public mischief.

00:40He also called on the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to remove Zamri's

00:44post to prevent further harm.

00:47In a Facebook post yesterday, Zamri said Hindu worshippers performing the cavity ritual looked

00:52like they were possessed and drunk on potty.

00:56His remarks followed the controversy surrounding three ERA FM radio hosts who were widely criticized

01:01for their mockery of the same religious practice.

01:04Ramkarpal condemned Zamri's remarks as irresponsible and insensitive and expressed doubt that he

01:09would apologize like the ERA FM DJs, given his history of avoiding legal consequences

01:14for inflammatory statements.
