Donald Trump’s Oval Office meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky descended into a shouting match with the US president abruptly ending the conversation and throwing reporters out.
Mr Trump told the Ukrainian president he was “gambling with World War Three” as their meeting became heated.
The Ukrainian president told Mr Trump the rare earth minerals deal being negotiated by the two leaders was not enough for his country.
Mr Trump in turn accused Mr Zelensky of being “very disrespectful”.
JD Vance, the vice president, intervened, asking Mr Zelensky: “have you said thank you once?”
As voices were raised, Mr Trump told the Ukrainian leader that “you have to be thankful”.
“You either make a deal, or we are out,” the president warned.
Mr Trump then abruptly ended the meeting saying he thought it was enough, with the press abruptly ushered out.

Was meinst du?
01:16Gott sei Dank.
01:17Sie wissen das nicht.
01:18Gott sei Dank.
01:19Sie wissen das nicht.
01:20Gott sei Dank.
01:47Von Anfang an.
01:48Sie sind nicht in einer guten Position.
01:51Ihr habt die Karten nicht jetzt.
01:53Mit uns wirst du hier Kurzen anbieten.
01:55ampI going...
01:57Sie spielen Kurzen an.
01:58Sie spielen Kurzen an.
02:09und dasみたいe Land und unser Land
02:16Sie souliceness.
02:17Haben Sie schon einmal Danke gesagt,
02:18Diese ganze Sitzung ?
02:19You went to Pennsylvania and campaigned for the opposition in October, offer some words
02:26of appreciation for the United States of America and the president who's trying to save your
02:31country.
02:32Please, you think that if you will speak very loudly about the war, you can...
02:38He's not speaking loudly.
02:39He's not speaking loudly.
02:40Your country is in big trouble.
02:42Can I answer?
02:43No, no.
02:44You've done a lot of talking.
02:45Your country is in big trouble.
02:46I know.
02:47You're not winning.
02:48You're not winning this.
02:50You have a damn good chance of coming out okay because of us.
02:53Mr. President, we are staying in our country, staying strong from the very beginning of
02:57the war.
02:58We've been alone and we are thankful.
03:00I said thanks in this cabinet.
03:01You haven't been alone.
03:02You haven't been alone.
03:03We gave you, through this stupid president, $350 billion.
03:07You voted for your president.
03:08We gave you military equipment and your men are brave, but they had to use our military...
03:13If you didn't have our military equipment...
03:16You invited me to speak.
03:17If you didn't have our military equipment, this war would have been over in two weeks.
03:21In three days.
03:22I heard it from Putin.
03:23In three days.
03:24This is something new.
03:25Maybe less.
03:26In two weeks.
03:27Of course, yes.
03:28It's going to be a very hard thing to do business like this.
03:30I tell you.
03:31Just say thank you, except that there are disagreements and let's go litigate those
03:38disagreements rather than trying to fight it out in the American media when you're
03:42wrong.
03:43We know that you're wrong.
03:44I think it's good for the American people to see what's going on.
03:48I think it's very important.
03:49That's why I kept this going so long.
03:52You have to be thankful.
03:54You don't have the cards.
03:55I'm thankful.
03:56You're buried there.
03:57People are dying.
03:58I can tell you.
03:59You're running low on soldiers.
04:00Listen.
04:01Don't, please.
04:02You're running low on soldiers.
04:03It would be a damn good thing...
04:04Mr. President.
04:05Then you tell us, I don't want a ceasefire.
04:07I don't want a ceasefire.
04:08I want to go.
04:09And I wanted this.
04:11Look.
04:12If you could get a ceasefire right now, I'd tell you, you'd take it so the bullets
04:15stop flying and your men stop getting killed.
04:18Of course we want to stop the war.
04:19But you're saying you don't want a ceasefire?
04:20But I said to you...
04:21I want a ceasefire.
04:22With guarantees.
04:23Because you'll get a ceasefire faster than an agreement.
04:25Ask our people about ceasefire, what they think.
04:28That wasn't with me.
04:29It doesn't matter for you what this means.
04:30That wasn't with me.
04:31It wasn't with you.
04:32That was with a guy named Biden who was not a smart person.
04:35That was with Obama.
04:36This is your president.
04:37It was your president.
04:38Excuse me.
04:39It was Obama who gave you sheets and I gave you javelins.
04:42I gave you the javelins to take out all those tanks.
04:46Obama gave you sheets.
04:48In fact, the statement is, Obama gave sheets and Trump gave javelins.
04:54You got to be more thankful.
04:56Because let me tell you, you don't have the cards.
04:58With us, you have the cards.
05:00But without us, you don't have any cards.
05:02What if Russia breaks the ceasefire?
05:25What if anything?
05:26What if a bomb drops on your head right now?
05:29Okay?
05:30What if they broke it?
05:31I don't know.
05:32What if they broke it with Biden?
05:33Because Biden, they didn't respect him.
05:35They didn't respect Obama.
05:37They respect me.
05:39Let me tell you, Putin went through a hell of a lot with me.
05:41He went through a phony witch hunt where they used him and Russia.
05:45Russia, Russia, Russia.
05:47You ever hear of that deal?
05:48That was a phony.
05:49That was a phony Hunter Biden, Joe Biden scam.
05:53Hillary Clinton, shifty Adam Schiff.
05:55It was a Democrat scam.
05:58And he had to go through that.
06:00And he did go through it.
06:01We didn't end up in a war.
06:03And he went through it.
06:04He was accused of all that stuff.
06:05He had nothing to do with it.
06:06It came out of Hunter Biden's bathroom.
06:10It came out of Hunter Biden's bedroom.
06:13It was disgusting.
06:15And then they said, oh, oh, the laptop from hell was made by Russia.
06:21The 51 agents.
06:22The whole thing was a scam.
06:24And he had to put up with that.
06:25He was being accused of all that stuff.
06:28All I can say is this, he might have broken deals with Obama and Bush and he might have
06:34broken them with Biden.
06:35He did.
06:36Maybe.
06:37Maybe he didn't.
06:38I don't know what happened.
06:39But he didn't break him with me.
06:40He wants to make a deal.
06:41I don't know if you can make a deal.
06:43The problem is, I've empowered you to be a tough guy.
06:47And I don't think you'd be a tough guy without the United States.
06:51And your people are very brave.
06:53But you're either going to make a deal or we're out.
06:55And if we're out, you'll fight it out.
06:58I don't think it's going to be pretty, but you'll fight it out.
07:02But you don't have the cards.
07:04But once we sign that deal, you're in a much better position, but you're not acting at
07:08all thankful.
07:09And that's not a nice thing.
07:11I'll be honest.
07:12That's not a nice thing.
07:13All right.
07:14I think we've seen enough.
07:15What do you think?
07:16This is this is going to be great television.
07:19I will say that.
07:20All right.
07:22All right.
07:23We'll see what we can do about putting it together.
07:26Thank you.
07:27Come on.
07:28Guys, let's go.
07:29Guys, come on.
07:30Let's go.
07:31We'll see.
07:32I don't know.
07:33All right, guys.
07:34Guys, come on.
07:35Please.
07:36Hey.
07:37Come on.
