00:00Our countrymen in Apayao who have chronic kidney disease do not need to go to Karatig, Lalawigan anymore.
00:07This is after the dialysis center in Flora District Hospital, Kamakailan was opened.
00:12According to Apayao Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Mark Calban,
00:15some of those who are on dialysis from Apayao are still going to Cagayan,
00:19three times a week just to get dialysis.
00:23With the opening of the new dialysis center,
00:25the service is getting closer to the patients in need.
00:29With our hospital development plan and our universal healthcare implementation,
00:34we are adding services on the ground so that people will not have to go out to Apayao to get treatment.
00:41Because as they say in universal healthcare, it is a borderless and a limitless and a boundless healthcare system.
00:48There is no need for more cases of chronic kidney disease.
00:52That is why the opening of the new dialysis center is just temporary.
00:56At present, more than 50 dialysis patients are being serviced by the facility.
