Rob Gregson lists three key free agent targets for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

00:00NFL free agency is almost here and the Pittsburgh Steelers have a lot of holes to fill.
00:05Offensively and defensively this team has to make some splash moves if they want to contend for a
00:11Super Bowl in 2025. Today we're going to talk about acquiring three names that would allow them to do
00:18just that. Hey everyone, Rob Gregson of ADZ Sports Pittsburgh and today we're going to discuss
00:27three free agent targets for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Let's start at number one with wide
00:32receiver and none other than Stephan Diggs. Look, I know what people are going to say. Really?
00:38Stephan Diggs to pair alongside George Pickens? Are you kidding me? That might be the most toxic
00:45wide receiver room in the entire NFL. But the truth is Stephan Diggs, the last we saw, was still
00:52an excellent route runner, a great separator, and just a fantastic easy button for any quarterback
01:00in the NFL. This is a guy that can separate, get open, get yards after the catch, and make the
01:06tough plays over the middle. That's something that the Steelers simply don't have. He might be
01:12past his prime a little bit, coming off an injured season, a little bit of a problem in the locker
01:17room, but if you're talking about acquiring Stephan Diggs for a one to two year rental in
01:22Pittsburgh just to be an easy button, gadget, get open kind of guy to alleviate some of the pressure
01:29on George Pickens, he's a perfect fit. Second, we know that Omar Khan and the Steelers are going to
01:36address the defensive line. He was very stark in his comments at the Combine when he said that the
01:42play of the front seven simply wasn't good enough at the end. Larry Ogunjobi is likely on his way
01:49out, but a familiar face could replace him. Look for Javon Hargrave to be in play as a potential
01:57return option for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Once again, coming off an injured season,
02:03but before that was a pro bowler and a key cog in the 49ers run to the Super Bowl and still has a
02:09lot left in the tank as a defender along that front seven for the Steelers. And third and one
02:16of the more sneaky candidates in this class is cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. This is a guy who
02:23much like his dad can get his hands on the football. He likely wouldn't start outside,
02:29but we know that the Steelers defense reaches another level when they have a strong nickel
02:35slot corner. That's exactly what Asante Samuel Jr. would do at only 25 years old and with multiple
02:42seasons of ball production on his resume. Placing him in the slot would just completely revitalize
02:50the Steelers secondary. So those are three names that shouldn't cost that much and would make a
02:57big impact for the Pittsburgh Steelers. If they can find a way to negotiate deals with all of
03:03those players, they have tons of cap space to then go out and potentially sign an even bigger name
03:12to make bigger moves in the trade market and in the NFL draft. Those are three names
03:19that provide instant value yet won't cost that much for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
