KMT, DPP Fight Recall Campaigns as First-Stage Results Released

Out of over 50 recall campaigns against lawmakers in Taiwan, 19 have passed the first stage of the recall process, all against members of the main opposition Kuomintang. The Central Election Commission will release more first-stage results in the coming weeks. However, the parties are trying to prevent the campaigns from advancing and are accusing campaigners of mishandling funds and of signature fraud.
