00:00Their fate hangs on the thumb of our final judge.
00:03Thumbs up!
00:05Average Joes can play!"
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks
00:11for the most memorable and or iconic cameos in film history.
00:15This list focuses on brief, comedic roles rather than extensive supporting parts.
00:21As is often the case with cameos, these contain spoilers.
00:25Am I to understand that you lot will not be keeping to the code then?
00:45Call me old Jesus!
00:48This icon is best known for his stories,
00:51but Creepshow lets him explore the horror genre as a performer.
00:55The anthology film includes a story based on King's short Weeds,
00:59with a section devoted to the character Geordie Verrill.
01:02The author plays Verrill as an unfortunate man who got too curious.
01:06I wonder how much they'd pay for it off the college.
01:21After touching a meteorite, his farmer starts to experience negative side effects.
01:26It feels like a chance for the writer to finally experience a scary story for himself.
01:31With this gruesome tale, he also shows that he could have been an actor in another life.
01:36Oh, you done it now, Geordie Verrill!
01:39You monk-head!
01:45Hi, Mary.
01:47Brett?
01:48What the hell is Brett Favre doing here?
01:50True to the title, Cameron Diaz's character has something that people can't resist.
01:55One of her ex-boyfriends happens to be Brett Favre.
01:58The athlete shows up near the end, proving to be one of Mary's more wholesome suitors.
02:03It's a complete surprise to see an NFL quarterback arrive at the last minute.
02:08That's right, Mary.
02:09You know I'll always be true to you.
02:11Oh, s**t, this isn't fair.
02:14His appearance alone makes for a funny twist, proving that even famous people know about the woman.
02:20Favre also plays himself during one of his early heydays.
02:23The Farrelly brothers know how to utilize a topical cameo and make it somewhat believable.
02:28Hey, good luck, Brett.
02:30Yeah, thank you.
02:31She's a great gal. Take care of her.
02:37The others around the table would be actor friends.
02:40Dim figures you may still remember from the silent days.
02:43This film is a mystery, a dark comedy, and a takedown of classic Hollywood.
02:48Gloria Swanson's character Norma Desmond struggles to come to grips with her fading stardom.
02:54She also has acting friends over to play cards, setting the stage for this hard-hitting scene.
03:01This game includes a man who looks like Buster Keaton.
03:04Willing to poke fun at his own image, the screen comedian appears to be one of the waxworks.
03:09He's not technically playing himself, but Keaton does appear as another aging performer.
03:14It's a small cameo that provides more authenticity to this legendary production.
03:19Green or Trump?
03:20Pass.
03:22Pass.
03:23Number 47.
03:25Lemme Kill Mr.
03:26Airheads.
03:27I understand if you don't love me anymore.
03:31I play D&D too!
03:38This film is all about what happens when a band holds a radio station hostage.
03:43Brendan Fraser's character Chester later reveals that he wasn't always a rocker,
03:48inspiring others to reveal their secrets.
03:51One of the people in the crowd is played by Lemme Kill Mr.
03:54It's even funnier to see him after the movie itself references the singer.
03:58Interesting match.
03:59Lemme or God?
04:00Lemme.
04:01God.
04:02Wrong, dickhead.
04:03Trick question.
04:04Lemme is God.
04:05God!
04:06The frontman claims that he was a magazine editor back in school.
04:09Not only does this comedy pay tribute to rock history,
04:12it includes people who were integral to the genre.
04:15Airheads gets a metal icon to make fun of himself,
04:18showing that even a motorhead has a soft side.
04:21I was editor of the school magazine!
04:25Number 46.
04:27Hunter S. Thompson.
04:28Fear and loathing in Las Vegas.
04:30I recall one night in a place called The Matrix.
04:33There I was.
04:34Johnny Depp does such a convincing job in this film
04:37that you almost believe you're watching Hunter S. Thompson.
04:40This makes it all the more bizarre when the real man shows up.
04:43In this flashback scene, the main hero spots a familiar face at a party.
04:47The movie doesn't dwell on this appearance either.
04:50The writer doesn't look all that out of place,
04:53playing into the story's blend of real and absurd imagery.
04:57You might find yourself rewinding to watch for a second time.
05:00Terry Gilliam's surreal adaptation of the book
05:03doesn't disappoint with these kinds of meta moments.
05:06There I was.
05:07Father of God, there I am.
05:11Number 45.
05:13Keith Richards.
05:14Pirates of the Caribbean at World's End.
05:17There's not been a king since the first court,
05:19and that's not likely to change.
05:21Not likely.
05:23Since Jack Sparrow is halfway to a rock star,
05:26it's only fitting that a real one appears in this sequel.
05:28Keith Richards shows up to play the enigmatic Captain Teague.
05:32This character plays guitar, but more importantly,
05:35he's Sparrow's father.
05:40It's both a high-profile cameo and fitting for this kind of Pirates film.
05:44The guitarist becomes a convincing cast member,
05:47wearing his period costume well.
05:49Richards doesn't have to do much either,
05:52bringing a cool energy to his screen time.
05:54You might also be pinching yourself
05:56when you realize that a Rolling Stone is in this movie.
06:00The code is the law.
06:05Number 44.
06:06Paul Rudd, Ugly Sonic, Darkwing Duck, etc.
06:10Chippendale Rescue Rangers.
06:12Ladies and gentlemen, the Rescue Rangers!
06:17You might love the main characters,
06:19but it's hard not to salute the countless cameos.
06:21Some of these are live-action, while others are animated guests.
06:24These appearances come pouring in
06:26when Chippendale end up at a fan convention.
06:28It's hard to believe how many legends
06:30from film, television, and video games show up.
06:33The infamous Ugly Sonic arrives to take a stand,
06:36giving fans another reason to laugh.
06:38They'll like me for who I am,
06:40not like last time when the internet
06:42got one look at my human teeth and burned the place down.
06:45Okay, let's see.
06:47Even Paul Rudd pokes fun at his Ant-Man role
06:50in a moment for MCU stans.
06:52You know, originally, it was called Ant-Man.
06:54A-U-N-T.
06:56And my superpower was being really charming to ants.
06:59During the credits, Darkwing Duck
07:01makes a last-minute plea
07:03to be the best part of this cast.
07:05Who is?
07:06We want Darkwing!
07:08We want Darkwing!
07:10We'd go on, but that would require
07:12another Top 50 list.
07:14Number 43.
07:15Brad Pitt, The Lost City.
07:17From the dusty mesa,
07:20her looming shadow grows.
07:24When things go wrong in this adventure,
07:26tough guy Jack Traynor is on the case.
07:28Brad Pitt plays this expert agent.
07:31While he might be the hero in other movies,
07:33he has a short amount of screen time here.
07:35It goes one step further
07:37when his mission doesn't go as planned.
07:39What is happening?
07:41Oh!
07:43Okay.
07:45What do we do?
07:46Pitt's character ends up with a serious injury,
07:48taking him out of the action.
07:50It's a reversal not unlike
07:52the actor's cameo in Deadpool 2.
07:54Rather than making him a major character,
07:56the plot shelves Traynor
07:58for everyday heroes played by Sandra Bullock
08:00and Channing Tatum.
08:02The credit sequence then brings him back
08:04for one more joke to please audiences.
08:06Yeah, we only use 10% of our brains,
08:08so I just switched to another 10%.
08:12So you're joking.
08:16100%.
08:17Number 42.
08:19Quentin Tarantino – Desperado
08:21This reminds me of a joke.
08:24While he doesn't act as much anymore,
08:26director Quentin Tarantino
08:28did appear in several projects in the 1990s.
08:31This particular role brings some levity to Desperado.
08:34In the Robert Rodriguez film,
08:36he plays a bar patron who loves to tell jokes.
08:39His lengthy story gets a laugh
08:41before all hell breaks loose.
08:43This guy comes into a bar,
08:45walks up to the bartender,
08:47says, bartender, I got me a bet for you.
08:49Tarantino knows how to sell the dialogue,
08:52playing into his wacky role of a fast-talking customer.
08:55A gunfight breaks out that leads
08:57to his character's untimely death.
08:59Rodriguez's wild movie keeps you guessing,
09:02with this cameo lending even more energy
09:04to this sequence.
09:06I swear, I have no f***ing idea
09:08what the hell's going on here!
09:10Number 41.
09:12Huey Lewis – Back to the Future
09:14Alright.
09:16We're the, uh, we're the pinheads.
09:19Performing the theme song for the movie,
09:21Huey Lewis and the news are an integral part
09:23of Back to the Future.
09:25The first film also gives the lead singer
09:27a chance to act.
09:28During the audition scene,
09:30Marty McFly and his band play in front
09:32of some unimpressed adults.
09:34One of them is played by Huey Lewis,
09:36making this moment even more ironic.
09:38Lewis' character has to tell McFly
09:40that rock music is too loud.
09:42The funny Easter egg only adds
09:44to this great scene with a nod
09:46to the vocalist's own sound.
09:48It just goes to show that everyone's a critic.
09:50I'm afraid you're just too darn loud.
09:52Next place.
09:54Number 40.
09:56Frank Sinatra – Around the World in 80 Days
10:00How many times did I have to tell you
10:02to stay out of here, you donkey?
10:04I'm a... lotus.
10:07In this Best Picture winner
10:09from 1956,
10:11a slew of celebrities
10:13make cameo appearances.
10:15David Niven's Phileas Fogg
10:17and his valet Passepartout
10:19find themselves in a saloon.
10:21With characters played by Marlena Dietrich
10:23and George Raft,
10:25this scene also features a mysterious pianist.
10:27You only see his back
10:29in a clever setup to the final reveal.
10:31When he eventually turns around,
10:33Frank Sinatra provides another
10:35surprise in this entertaining scene.
10:37It's yet another reason to revisit
10:39this adaptation of the Jules Verne tale.
10:41Sinatra doesn't oversell
10:43his part either, providing a nice
10:45boost to this epic.
10:55Number 39.
10:57Angela Lansbury, Steven Sondheim,
10:59Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
11:01and Natasha Lyonne.
11:03Glass Onion, A Knives Out Mystery
11:17For this sequel, Benoit Blanc
11:19tests his skills in a round of Among Us.
11:21He also plays with some famous friends.
11:23This unlikely ensemble
11:25proves to be a talented bunch,
11:27outsmarting Blanc in this popular game.
11:29Actress Angela Lansbury
11:32is one opponent,
11:34along with Steven Sondheim
11:36and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
11:46You also get to see an appearance from
11:48Poker Face star Natasha Lyonne.
11:50Director Rian Johnson brings the laughs
11:52while making the audience reel from the star power.
11:54It's fun to imagine the detective
11:56spending his free time this way.
11:58Even if the cameos don't make you laugh,
12:00they're a fitting salute to these artists.
12:02Number 38.
12:04Robert Patrick, Last Action Hero
12:06If you remember the second Terminator,
12:08you definitely know Robert Patrick's face.
12:10His role as the T-1000
12:12is so iconic that it's appeared
12:14in other films like Last Action Hero.
12:16The meta action movie features
12:18two cameos, but you have to be watching
12:20closely to catch them both.
12:22Patrick walks by the lead characters
12:24after an appearance from Sharon Stone.
12:26It's amazing that they got him to do it
12:28considering that it's so fast.
12:30Even in his brief screen time,
12:32the actor manages to look cool.
12:34He doesn't even need to say anything
12:36to make an impact.
12:44Number 37.
12:46Val Kilmer, Top Gun Maverick
12:48Don't worry about me.
12:50What can I do for you?
12:55Part of this sequel is about dealing
12:57with the past. It's only fitting that
12:59Val Kilmer came back to reprise his role
13:01as Iceman. In real life,
13:03the actor had been living with various
13:05health problems. The filmmakers
13:07worked this into the story in a moving
13:09moment between performers. Maverick
13:11looks for advice, but he also finds
13:13a cathartic conversation with his former
13:15rival.
13:18I love you.
13:30Kilmer wears the emotion on his face
13:32and plays especially well off of
13:34Tom Cruise. While Top Gun Maverick
13:36features aerial action,
13:38it also lets a well-placed cameo
13:40ground the story.
13:42The Navy needs
13:44Maverick.
13:47The kid
13:49needs Maverick.
13:53That's why I fought for you.
13:57That's why you're still here.
13:59Number 36.
14:01David Lynch, The Fablemans
14:03They tell me you want to be a
14:05picture maker.
14:07Um, yes sir,
14:09I do. Why?
14:11Before ending his semi-autobiographical
14:13film, Steven Spielberg
14:15sends his hero to meet a legend.
14:17The lead character meets and learns
14:19a lesson from director John Ford.
14:21Played by the late great David Lynch,
14:23this older filmmaker doesn't
14:25like to mince words. No.
14:27No.
14:29Where's the horizon?
14:31The horizon? The performer wears
14:33an eye patch and smokes a cigar,
14:35adding plenty of details to this scene.
14:37His character is hilarious,
14:39blunt, and filled with cinematic
14:41wisdom. Ford becomes a
14:43perfect role for Lynch, with the former
14:45teaching his guest about the rules of art.
14:47His final wrap-up might be the funniest
14:49of the entire movie. It's another
14:51case of an off-the-wall casting
14:53selling the part.
14:55Good luck to you.
14:57And get the f*** out of my office.
14:59Okay.
15:01Number 35. Mark Hamill
15:03Jay and Silent Bob strike back.
15:09What the?
15:11He might be a Star Wars icon,
15:13but Mark Hamill likes to make fun of himself.
15:15His appearance in Jay and Silent Bob
15:17Strike Back is one key
15:19example. The entrance alone
15:21should be considered classic, but there's
15:23also his superhero costume.
15:25Hamill throws himself into the role without
15:27caring about how he looks. Playing up
15:29the comedic script, the actor shows
15:31that he's much more than Luke Skywalker.
15:33You and your sidekick
15:35are finally
15:37in the grasp
15:40of Kaktaka.
15:42Director
15:44Kevin Smith finds a way to both
15:46honor a cinematic hero and
15:48parody the star's persona.
15:50If you need a reminder of the man's
15:52versatility, you should watch this comedy
15:54again. The film also gives
15:56you a chance to watch Ben and Matt
15:58spoof Good Will Hunting.
16:00Now how do you like
16:02them apples?
16:06I don't like the sound of them apples.
16:08Well, what are we gonna do?
16:10Jackie? Yeah?
16:12It's hunting season.
16:14Number 34.
16:16Danny Glover, Maverick.
16:18Bank robbery?
16:20I robbed it, I told you.
16:22You heard the man, bank robbery.
16:24After the release of Lethal
16:26Weapon, the movie Maverick decided
16:28to have some fun with audiences.
16:30Mel Gibson stars in the latter
16:32western that welcomes this star cameo.
16:34Danny Glover appears as a
16:36robber wearing his charisma under
16:38a bandana. At one point,
16:40the two characters do a double take.
16:42Hey!
16:44I'm sorry.
16:46Give me that.
16:48Both performers mostly play it straight,
16:50but the viewers will enjoy seeing them together
16:52again. It's ultimately an entertaining
16:54way to wink at the buddy cop
16:56series. Even if you don't remember
16:58this 1994 film, you should check
17:00it out for this exciting little detour.
17:06Number 33.
17:08Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
17:10Spider-Man No Way Home.
17:12You're Peter.
17:14Yeah.
17:16Peter Parker.
17:18I've seen
17:20you two.
17:22Hi.
17:24They tried to hide
17:26these two, but we all knew they were
17:28up to something. Spider-Man No Way
17:30Home would not be complete without these two
17:32performers bringing their A-game.
17:34These cameos from Tobey Maguire
17:36and Andrew Garfield were still
17:38impactful. When portals open,
17:40other versions of Spider-Man assemble.
17:42Look, I think that I can repair the devices
17:44for Dylan and Marco, but the others...
17:46Well, I got Connors.
17:48I've already cured him once, so no big deal.
17:50Maguire and Garfield reprise
17:52their role as the web-slinger, bringing
17:54their own personalities to an action-packed
17:56film. They show off their
17:58chemistry in a fantastic finale.
18:00With some emotional moments,
18:02they also play important roles in the overall
18:04story. My Uncle Ben was
18:06killed.
18:08It was my fault.
18:10I lost...
18:14I lost Gwen.
18:16My, um...
18:18She was my MJ.
18:20Number 32. Blade and Electra.
18:22Deadpool and Wolverine.
18:24If you've seen Deadpool and Wolverine,
18:26you know that it's not exactly subtle
18:28about anything.
18:30This movie doesn't do anything
18:32small, with cameos galore
18:34throughout the sequel. These include
18:36Jennifer Garner and Wesley Snipes
18:38playing some familiar heroes.
18:40Building upon past experience,
18:42both performers bring in their own
18:44gravitas to this wacky adventure.
18:46It's amazing to see them back as
18:48Electra and Blade. Playing against
18:50Ryan Gosling, the two are
18:52well-known for their chemistry,
18:54and not least, their
18:56incredible chemistry.
18:58I think it's a great way
19:00to end this movie.
19:02It's a really amazing film.
19:04I really enjoyed it.
19:06I agree.
19:08and Blade. Playing against Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, these actors prove themselves alongside
19:13other greats. They even stand out amongst shocking appearances like Channing Tatum as Gambit.
19:19All of them end up being awesome counterparts to the title roles.
19:23How did you all get stuck in the void?
19:25There was a knock at the door. TVA sent me here.
19:28Me too.
19:28Maybe I was born here. It's hard to know for sure.
19:31Number 31. Chuck Norris. Dodgeball, a true underdog story.
19:36The committee members have the final say and it looks like they've come to a decision.
19:42To many people, Chuck Norris still represents one of the most macho actors ever. His appearance in
19:47Dodgeball comes at the 11th hour. The performer gives a deciding vote in favor of average Joe's
19:53gym. Norris delivers a memorable thumbs up, helping the heroes to conquer the villains.
19:58It's a strange cameo that comes after the likes of David Hasselhoff,
20:02William Shatner, and even Lance Armstrong. The missing in action star even gets a funny exchange
20:07with Vince Vaughn, making this another high point of the movie. In a comedy full of fun moments,
20:13the filmmakers find new ways to excite the viewers.
20:16Thank you, Chuck Norris.
20:18Thank you, Peter.
20:19Number 30. Matt Damon. Eurotrip. The start of this movie follows recent high school graduate
20:26Scotty Thomas as he discovers the reason his girlfriend broke up with him. It just so happens
20:31that her new boyfriend is played by Matt Damon.
20:39The shock of seeing this A-lister show up in a movie like this is enough to make anybody laugh.
20:44But to top things off, Damon takes the stage to sing a song about his character's affair.
20:49I can't believe he's so trusting. While I'm right behind you thrusting.
20:58The surreal cameo really underscores how embarrassed Scotty is about the revelation.
21:04Sporting a shaved head, the Jason Bourne star gives this scene all the gravitas and reckless
21:09abandon an audience could want. It's that same kind of dedication that draws similar
21:14laughs in Thor Ragnarok.
21:16Tell my story.
21:18Build a statue for me.
21:19We will build a big statue for you.
21:21With my helmet on.
21:22With a big bendy horn.
21:24Number 29. Tom Cruise and Company. Austin Powers in Goldmember.
21:29It's Britney Spears!
21:38In this sequel, the filmmakers decide to have some fun with a whole slew of choice cameos.
21:44The beginning looks like a big budget adventure,
21:46and features the star power of Tom Cruise, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Danny DeVito.
21:51The amazing cast doesn't hesitate in playing their parts to the fullest.
21:55Hey Powers!
21:58You better watch your friggin' self because this is one doctor who does make house calls.
22:03To make things even better, Steven Spielberg also shows up as a parody of himself
22:09to direct the whole sequence.
22:11Movie fans will be grinning from ear to ear as they get to see so many incredible artists together.
22:16Plus, the fact that they get to say Austin Powers dialogue makes it even more entertaining.
22:21Well, Miss Normus, shall we shag now or shag later?
22:28Oh, Austin, behave!
22:30Number 28. Liam Neeson. Ted 2.
22:34In this sequel, the main character receives an unlikely visitor at a grocery store.
22:39Liam Neeson plays a customer that's anxious about buying Trix cereal.
22:43I'd like to ask a few questions about this breakfast cereal.
22:47Uh, yeah, yeah, box of Trix.
22:50That's right. I've been led to understand that Trix are exclusively for children.
22:55With all the intensity of a taken film,
22:57Neeson interrogates Ted about the tagline of the cereal.
23:00He even explicitly asks whether there'll be trouble if he, an adult, buys the product.
23:06So if I purchase these Trix, there'll be no trouble?
23:10No, no, you should be fine.
23:13You do understand that I myself am not a child?
23:16I was able to sniff that out, yeah.
23:18Well, unfortunately, it seems that there does end up being trouble.
23:21Neeson returns after the credits, apparently having had quite the rough day,
23:26and returns the cereal.
23:28It's an absurd and hilarious way to utilize the prestigious talents of this acting legend.
23:33Hey, I won't forget what you've done for me here today.
23:37I would prefer that you do.
23:39Number 27.
23:40Charlton Heston.
23:42Wayne's World 2.
23:43Sometimes casting can completely change a movie for the better.
23:47This moment from Wayne's World 2 perfectly illustrates that point,
23:51allowing for a last minute swap to elevate the scene.
23:54Gordon Street!
23:55Gordon Street!
23:56Yeah, oh yeah, Gordon Street.
23:58I once knew a girl who lived on Gordon Street.
24:01But that was a long time ago.
24:03The hero has Charlton Heston tag in to play a gas station attendant who loves to talk.
24:09The real magic comes from his performance,
24:11as he recites his lines like they're from an Oscar-winning script.
24:15I once knew a girl who lived on Gordon Street.
24:17Long time ago, when I was a young man.
24:21Not a day passes I don't think of her.
24:24With Wayne even tearing up at the end,
24:26the whole speech becomes a funny play on the typical Hollywood monologue.
24:30It's both a major highlight from an underrated sequel,
24:33and a showcase of Heston's talents.
24:36I had one perfect day on Gordon Street.
24:40That's five blocks up, two over.
24:42Number 26.
24:44Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
24:46Airplane.
24:47This landmark comedy wouldn't be complete without a number of great casting choices.
24:52For one of the pilots, the filmmakers decided to cast NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
24:57Flight 209 to Denver radio.
25:00Climbing to cruise at 42,000.
25:02We'll report again over Lincoln.
25:03Over and out.
25:04His appearance alone gets laughs,
25:06but the script lets the all-star have a few awesome lines.
25:10The athlete fields questions about his skills before dishing out a hilarious takedown.
25:15Listen kid, I've been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA.
25:19I'm out there busting my buns every night.
25:22Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes.
25:26And he does it all while trying to keep his cover as co-pilot Roger Murdoch.
25:31Oh what we wouldn't give to hear him take down the kid's father.
25:35In a movie full of unexpected cameos, this one might just be the greatest.
25:39I'm sorry son, but you must have me confused with someone else.
25:42My name is Roger Murdoch.
25:44I'm the co-pilot.
25:45Number 25.
25:46David Hasselhoff.
25:47The SpongeBob SquarePants movie.
25:49Who are you?
25:51I'm David Hasselhoff.
25:53Hooray!
25:54Confusing children and adults alike, David Hasselhoff arrives in the SpongeBob SquarePants
25:59movie to give SpongeBob and Patrick a much-needed ride across the sea.
26:04It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's hilariously campy.
26:07So we'll let it slide.
26:11Take it easy back there fellas.
26:13Hasselhoff really sells his ability to sail across the water like a high-speed boat.
26:18All the while, he gives the surreal sequence a humor and charisma that can't be beaten.
26:23But we'll never be able to float down in time.
26:25Who said anything about floating?
26:29Initiating launch sequence.
26:31The actor even launches the characters out of his pecs in a moment that will
26:35have viewers of all ages laughing.
26:37Number 24.
26:39Bob Barker.
26:40Happy Gilmore.
26:41You know what's driving me crazy?
26:42You not getting the ball in the hole.
26:45Don't push me Bob, now's not the time.
26:47When the titular golfer finds himself in a celebrity tournament,
26:51he partners up with Bob Barker.
26:53The Price is Right host can only take Happy Gilmore for so long before picking a fight.
26:58Well, in all fairness, it's Gilmore who throws the first punch.
27:02And what a blow it is.
27:03All right, let's go.
27:06You like that old man?
27:08You want a piece of me?
27:10I don't want a piece of you.
27:12I want the whole thing.
27:13Oh!
27:14It's crazy and unexpected,
27:16but the sight of these two duking it out on the golf course is nothing short of hysterical.
27:21We never imagined we'd get to see Bob Barker
27:23punching Adam Sandler so many times in quick succession.
27:27But we're glad such a scene exists.
27:33I think you've had enough.
27:34Number 23.
27:35John Hurt.
27:36Spaceballs.
27:37Bring him some water!
27:39Water my ass!
27:40Bring this guy some Pepto Bismol!
27:42In his send-up of sci-fi films,
27:44director Mel Brooks fills a diner with assorted misfits.
27:48This includes one patron that looks a lot like Kane from Alien.
27:51In yet another space movie,
27:53John Hurt's character has a stomach-churning encounter with an extraterrestrial.
27:58This version ends in a much more hilarious way,
28:00as the creature starts to sing and dance.
28:03Hello, my baby!
28:04Hello, my honey!
28:05Hello, my ragtime gal!
28:08Send me a kiss by wire!
28:10Baby, my heart's on fire!
28:12Hurt leans into the moment,
28:14more than willing to poke fun at his former role.
28:17The acclaimed actor could have easily turned down this cameo,
28:20but we're glad he instead decided to die by aliens once more in this authentic parody.
28:25Oh, no!
28:27Not again!
28:30Number 22.
28:31Chris Evans.
28:32Free Guy.
28:33I think he's gonna hit you!
28:35He punches so hard!
28:36But yeah, his hands are so soft!
28:38Be strong!
28:38As Ryan Reynolds' character plays with all sorts of iconic items,
28:42he conjures up one famous shield in the heat of battle.
28:45This just so happens to catch the eye of the real Chris Evans.
28:49The quick cutaway does half the work,
28:51but we also couldn't have asked for a more perfect reaction from the Avenger.
28:55At a time when MCU fans were really starting to miss Captain America,
29:00this cameo served as a fantastic pick-me-up.
29:09What the shit?
29:11It's also emblematic of the fun energy employed throughout all of Free Guy,
29:15not to mention one of the movie's many winning pop culture jokes.
29:22Hold on.
29:22Is that a flaxen?
29:24Yes!
29:25That's a lightsaber, dude.
29:28Number 21.
29:29Billy Idol.
29:30The Wedding Singer.
29:31Seeing a celebrity on a plane is especially exciting if it's Billy Idol in the 1980s.
29:37The Wedding Singer puts its finale in the skies with this rock star included.
29:41Glenn doesn't deserve her.
29:43All he cares about are possessions.
29:45Fancy cars, CD players, even women are possessions to him.
29:51The musician makes a terrific impression by helping Adam Sandler's Robbie woo Drew Barrymore's Julia.
29:57Idol does it all with an effortless charm,
29:59even offering the hero a chance to realize his musical dreams.
30:03Hey Robbie, that wasn't a bad song.
30:05You know, I'm gonna tell this record company guys about you.
30:08Mind if I give her a kiss first?
30:11Oh yeah, do it.
30:11You gotta do it.
30:12It's ultimately a heartwarming and supportive cameo that helps set up a memorable ending.
30:17If you didn't know or love the White Wedding Singer before,
30:21you probably will after seeing him save the day.
30:24How you doing, sir?
30:25Chicken or fish?
30:26You better get out of my way, Billy.
30:27You're gonna get hurt.
30:29Don't you talk to Billy Idol that way.
30:32Number 20.
30:33Hugh Jackman, X-Men First Class.
30:35Excuse me, I'm Eric Lensherr.
30:37Charles Xavier.
30:38An X-Men movie apparently cannot be produced without an appearance from Wolverine,
30:42no matter how short it may be.
30:44Since the launch of the first movie,
30:46Hugh Jackman has made many physical appearances as Logan.
30:50And this one.
30:53In case the other fell off.
30:54While X-Men Apocalypse went for an extended and violent action sequence,
30:58Wolverine's best cameo lasted less than half a minute and featured no claws whatsoever.
31:04During X-Men First Class,
31:06Xavier and Magneto are looking for able mutants to join their cause,
31:10which leads them to a dingy bar in the middle of nowhere.
31:13Sadly, it was a wasted journey.
31:15Number 19.
31:17Ozzy Osbourne, Little Nikki.
31:19What's that?
31:20What's with the ball?
31:25Hahaha.
31:26Deus Ex Machina.
31:28Black Sabbath style.
31:30As the son of Satan, the kind and sweet Little Nikki is a bitter disappointment.
31:34Sandler's demon is on a quest to prevent his brothers
31:37from plunging the world into a never-ending darkness,
31:40although he does need a bit of help to get the job done.
31:42After smashing a mysterious orb given to him by his angelic mother,
31:46the Prince of Darkness shows up to take a bite out of Nikki's brother.
31:50Metal fans have known this for decades, but Ozzy is a gift from God.
31:55You can do it, Ozzy!
31:56Bite his freaking head off!
31:58No!
32:00Number 18.
32:01Danny McBride, Observe and Report.
32:04Get your hands off him!
32:05What?
32:06You heard me, that's my son!
32:08Considering they created comedy gold with Eastbound and Down,
32:11it's no surprise that Danny McBride appeared in Jody Hill's Observe and Report.
32:16Seth Rogen's Ronnie is an arrogant mall cop driven by a desire for justice.
32:20Who apprehends a prepubescent drug peddler during his free time.
32:24Unfortunately, the child's father shows up with his goons
32:27and sticks a gun in Ronnie's face area.
32:29Luckily for the mall cop, this gang has a few screws loose.
32:33Sticking to what he's known for,
32:35McBride delivers a funny and foul-mouthed performance.
32:42Number 17.
32:43Everyone, Muppets Most Wanted.
32:46Waiter?
32:49Yes?
32:50May I help you?
32:53The wine, please?
32:55From the days of Steve Martin and Richard Pryor,
32:57the Muppets have turned celebrity cameos into an art form.
33:01Their 2014 outing boasts over 20 famous faces,
33:04ensuring that every single viewer will recognize at least one of them.
33:08We're doing a sequel.
33:10Let's give it a go.
33:12With Hollywood stars.
33:14And low and liner cameos.
33:16We're doing a sequel.
33:17Picking the best of the bunch is practically impossible,
33:20as nearly all of them deliver the goods.
33:22Who didn't laugh when Christoph Waltz showed up to literally do the waltz,
33:27or Tom Hiddleston hamming it up as the great escape-o for the Prisoner Talent Show?
33:31Honestly, the entire movie is one big cameo.
33:34Number 16.
33:36Christopher Lloyd.
33:37A Million Ways to Die in the West.
33:39Hello?
33:42This film showed, if not anything else, that Seth MacFarlane knows how to write cameos.
33:47Despite being the director's worst-reviewed movie to date,
33:50A Million Ways to Die in the West features a few hilarious moments,
33:54including an out-of-the-blue cameo by Doc Brown himself.
33:58MacFarlane's Albert Stark randomly discovers Christopher Lloyd in a barn
34:02as the scientist tries to kickstart the DeLorean.
34:04What's that?
34:05Nothing.
34:09It's a weather experiment.
34:11Oh.
34:16Great Scott!
34:17Considering Back to the Future Part III takes place in the West,
34:21this cameo actually kind of makes sense.
34:23Number 15.
34:25Johnny Depp.
34:2621 Jump Street.
34:27Let's just relax and we can all leave here as friends.
34:29Yeah, let's do that.
34:30This film wasn't just funny,
34:32it also ingeniously brought the franchise full circle.
34:35Oh my god, we're gonna die.
34:36As Schmidt and Janko find themselves cornered by bad guys,
34:40two other undercover cops reveal themselves.
34:42One of the cops is played by Peter DeLuise,
34:45who you might know,
34:46and the other is played by Johnny Depp,
34:48who you definitely know.
34:49Little dweebs just ran a five-year investigation.
34:52Reprising their roles from the original TV series,
34:55the partners reminisce about their Jump Street days before getting shot.
34:58Depp himself requested that his character be killed off,
35:01and the filmmakers gave him a truly uproarious send-off.
35:07That was a gun.
35:08Somebody definitely got shot.
35:09Number 14.
35:10Hulk Hogan.
35:11Gremlins 2.
35:12The New Batch.
35:14We have gremlins in the projection booth.
35:16Could you help?
35:17Gremlins 2 works in so much meta humor that it practically destroys the fourth wall.
35:21This is worse than the first one.
35:23We just show these movies, madam.
35:25We don't make them.
35:27At one point, the mischievous gremlins actually take over the projection booth,
35:31stalling the film.
35:32But don't worry, folks.
35:34Hulk Hogan is in the audience.
35:36In true macho fashion,
35:37the professional wrestler threatens to get physical
35:39if the little miscreants above don't resume playing gremlins 2.
35:43Okay, you guys, listen up.
35:46People pay good money to see this movie.
35:48When they go out to a theater,
35:49they want cold sodas, hot popcorn, and no monsters in the projection booth.
35:55It turns out the gremlins actually have two weaknesses,
35:58sunlight and the Hulkster.
36:00Hilarious and surreal,
36:01this scene makes us wish every movie theater had Hulk Hogan on standby.
36:05Sorry, folks.
36:07It won't happen again.
36:08Number 13.
36:09Robert Patrick.
36:10Wayne's World.
36:16Terminator 2 Judgment Day took the world by storm in 1991,
36:20prompting Robert Patrick to revive the character for a brief cameo in Mike Myers' Wayne's World.
36:25Dressed up in his now iconic beat cop uniform,
36:28the T-1000 pulls over Wayne to ask whether he recently saw John Connor running around.
36:33Yes, officer, is there something wrong?
36:36Have you seen this boy?
36:44Myers reacts exactly how anyone would in this situation.
36:48He screams and hightails it out of there.
36:50By the way, the T-1000 was actually meant to be portrayed by Billy Idol
36:54before he was ruled out due to an unfortunate motorcycle accident.
36:58Number 12.
36:59Michael Jackson.
37:00Men in Black 2.
37:06During the later years of his life,
37:08Michael Jackson was the target of numerous gags,
37:11with everyone making fun of his physical appearance and questionable behavior.
37:15If this cameo from Men in Black 2 proved anything, however,
37:18it's that Jackson could laugh at himself.
37:24Conversing via video phone,
37:26Jackson is revealed to be an ally of Zed and possibly an alien.
37:39Jackson wants nothing more than to be an official MIB agent,
37:42although Zed isn't too keen on the idea.
37:44Michael sadly never becomes Agent M, but he'll always be the king of pop.
37:53Number 11.
37:54Emma Watson.
37:55This Is The End.
38:00This Is The End is yet another comedy that packs in countless cameos.
38:04Although it was pretty awesome to see the Backstreet Boys reunited,
38:07it was even more jarring seeing Hermione Granger make an appearance.
38:20Surviving the apocalypse, Emma Watson finds refuge at James Franco's house.
38:25But as the guys start sending the wrong kind of vibes,
38:28Watson decides that she's probably safer outside.
38:35Before leaving, though, the Hogwarts alumnus bashes in Seth Rogen's face
38:39and steals their supplies.
38:40Whether she's wielding a wand or an axe,
38:43Watson is one celebrity we'd want on our side when all hell breaks loose.
38:52Number 10.
38:53Eminem and Ray Romano.
38:54Funny People.
39:03Funny People centers on Adam Sandler as a struggling comedian
39:06who suddenly contracts a fatal disease and has to revalue his entire life.
39:11As with most of Judd Apatow's work,
39:13Funny People blends hilarious hijinks with many heartfelt moments,
39:17including the awesome scene featuring Eminem and Ray Romano.
39:20After the rapper gives Sandler a pep talk about the celebrity lifestyle,
39:24Eminem loses it after realizing that the Everybody Loves Raymond comedian is staring at him.
39:29Apparently, everybody does not include Eminem.
39:47Number 9.
39:48Mike Tyson.
39:49The Hangover.
39:50When a wild night becomes a day of retracing drunken steps,
39:53one nagging mystery in particular remains a head-scratcher.
39:56Where'd the tiger come from?
39:58Reality is stranger than any theory you can dream up,
40:01because the boys stole it from a sleeping Mike Tyson.
40:04Gotta say though, Mike seems pretty friendly,
40:07especially when he wants to sing with the gang.
40:09But turns out it's all part of his interrogation technique.
40:14Number 8.
40:15Martin Sheen.
40:16Hot Shots Part Deux.
40:24The Hot Shots sequel parodies many serious war movies,
40:35so obviously they had to include a reference to Francis Ford Coppola's 1979 epic.
40:41A badass retired Navy soldier who found inner peace after discovering Buddhism,
40:46Charlie Sheen's topper Harley is pulled back in for one final mission.
40:50While ramboing his way through Iraq,
40:52he comes across Martin Sheen's character from Apocalypse Now,
40:55who might have taken a wrong turn on his way to Vietnam.
40:58As the father and son cross paths, they share a few words of encouragement.
41:07Number 7.
41:08Neil Patrick Harris.
41:10Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.
41:12This legendary cameo comes from an actor who first got famous
41:16for his role as TV's kid doctor Doogie.
41:18In a slightly less than wholesome role however,
41:21NPH turns up during the titular duo's journey to this burger haven.
41:39The complete opposite of what anyone expected,
41:41this washed up and creepy celeb turned hitchhiker
41:44punctuates the title stoner's quest for burgers in ways they couldn't possibly imagine.
41:53Number 6.
41:55Eminem.
41:55The Interview.
42:01Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem,
42:04has made multiple epic cameos in Seth Rogen comedies.
42:07We've seen that he's not a very big fan of Ray Romano.
42:10Then, in The Interview,
42:12Eminem gave us a revelation no one was expecting
42:15with the most deadpan casual delivery he could muster.
42:23In fact, the best part of the whole scene
42:25is probably the rapper's commitment to keeping a straight face.
42:41He does it so well,
42:44especially when some horrendous lyrics are read out to him.
42:47Just as funny is everyone's shocked reactions
42:50as they try to fathom Eminem's quick coming out.
42:55Number 5.
42:56Michael Cera, This Is The End.
43:03This Is The End asks how celebrities would react to an end of days scenario.
43:07While the main actors mostly play it straight,
43:09Cera is allowed to run wild for his brief cameo.
43:12The Arrested Development actor drops his typically goody-two-shoes persona
43:16as he indulges in some party favors,
43:18engages in a threesome,
43:20and harasses Rihanna.
43:25Also, This Is The End shows Channing Tatum in a gimp suit.
43:27You have to see it to believe it.
43:29Number 4.
43:30David Bowie, Zoolander.
43:40Zoolander has celebrity cameos left and right,
43:43with the most memorable of the bunch being the late great David Bowie.
43:46Making a triumphant entrance complete with a title card,
43:49Bowie declares himself the judge of Derek and Hansel's walk-off.
44:03As Bowie keeps score on his hand,
44:05Hansel takes the lead by miraculously removing his underwear
44:08while somehow keeping his pants on.
44:10Even Jareth the Goblin King couldn't perform such dark magic.
44:14Derek tries to top his rival, but he isn't quite as successful.
44:17Thus, Bowie disqualifies him like a boss.
44:22Number 3.
44:23Bill Murray, Zombieland.
44:28In a flick about the end of mankind,
44:31the last person anyone expects to see is zombified Bill Murray.
44:34But fear not.
44:36He's just playing dress-up to keep up with the Joneses.
44:39Once Murray drops the ruse,
44:40Woody Harrelson gives the appropriate,
44:42and some would say mandatory, fan-level freak-out.
44:45Too bad Bill takes his pranks too far,
44:48trying to get a laugh from a scared kid with a shotgun.
44:57Number 2.
44:58Luke Wilson, Tim Robbins and Ben Stiller, Anchorman.
45:02In a completely random and hilarious opportunity for cameos,
45:05the Channel 4 news team is caught off guard
45:08by all of their rivals while taking a shortcut through town.
45:11No, we don't just mean Vince Vaughn and his aggressive evening news team.
45:14We're talking about Luke Wilson's Channel 2 team,
45:17Tim Robbins' public news team,
45:19and Ben Stiller's Spanish-language news team,
45:22and their epic, and frankly bizarre, cameo-laden brawl.
45:26Of course, the stakes were raised in the Anchorman sequel,
45:29Of course, the stakes were raised in the Anchorman sequel,
45:32when Sacha Baron Cohen, Tina Fey, Jim Carrey,
45:35John C. Reilly, and a bunch of others
45:37showed up to duke it out for journalistic dominance.

46:07This influential legend captured the imaginations of comic book readers
46:11everywhere for decades,
46:13and he had a habit of popping up on the big screen as well.
46:17You know, I guess one person can make a difference.
46:21His cameos were in fact so numerous
46:24that he has his own watchmojo list devoted to the topic.
46:27I had a girl probably the same as yours.
46:31She always complained that I spent too much time with my own comics.
46:35He's shown up as a tuned-out librarian,
46:38a romance expert,
46:39and as replacements for Hugh Hefner and Larry King to name a few.
46:43Unsurprisingly, most of his screen time was in MCU movies,
46:47but blink and you might miss some of them.
46:50After all these cameo appearances,
46:52you'd think Stan wouldn't have had any trouble getting on the guest list.
46:57Invitation, sir.
46:59I should be on that list.
47:01Name?
47:01Stan Lee.

47:04No, no, really, I'm Stan Lee.
