Toxic benzol on fire after a freight train accident in eastern Czechia

Firefighters battled a massive blaze in eastern Czechia after a freight train derailed and toxic benzol from damaged tank wagons exploded.
The accident took place near the station at the town of Hustopeče nad Bečvou, with the fire sending thick black smoke into the air visible from a long distance.

Firefighters used a helicopter to contain the fire while their counterparts from neighboring Slovakia were on the way to help. Nobody was injured but locals have been warned to stay indoors and keep windows closed.
