Whyalla steelworks is thought to be more than one billion dollars in debt

The ABC understanding that the Whyalla Steelworks owes more than one-billion-dollars to its creditors – three times more than previously reported. Months of correspondence shows the former owner was already struggling when blast furnace issues temporarily shut down the plant last March.
