00:00Every few decades the world changes. The Iron Curtain descending, the fall of the
00:06Berlin Wall, September 11th, the invasion of Ukraine. Today we must be realistic
00:14and accept that we are in another era of change. Our foreign policy should
00:20support our national interest. We should review those alliances, methods and
00:26approaches which served us well for three generations. Where they work we
00:31should keep them and where they do not they should go. The United Kingdom must
00:37accept reality. No one owes us a living. No process is an end in itself. We can no
00:46longer hide behind vapid statements that were at best ambitious 20 years ago and
00:52are now today outright irrelevant. It is time to speak the truth. The world has
00:59changed and the UK is not ready. So we must change too.
