00:21Martin Short was one of several celebrities who could not attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night.

00:26Short was honored with the award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Comedy Series,

00:31but he could not be there to accept the award after a COVID diagnosis.

00:35His Only Murders co-star Steve Martin also was not present.

00:39He had previously shared that they had come in contact with COVID at Saturday Night Live's anniversary special.

00:45The Only Murders cast did win the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

00:51Selena Gomez accepted the award and poked some fun at her co-star's absence.

00:56OK, well, Marty and Steve aren't here because, you know, they don't really care.

01:02But I, I just, I don't know what to say.

01:06Remember to thank Marty and Steve. Oh, and thank you to Marty and Steve for helping raise me.

01:12On Monday, Steve shared a sweet video from his castmates from the event.

01:26Meanwhile, in a statement, Short tells people about his win.

01:30The honor of being in Only Murders in the building is the most spectacular compliment anyone could be given.

01:39And now it was a big night for Timothee Chalamet, who won for Best Actor,

01:43but notably, girlfriend Kylie Jenner, who was by his side at the Golden Globes,

01:47was not present for his SAG Award win.

01:50Now, another winner who was not in attendance was Jean Smart.

02:13The actress won for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

02:17She could not be at the awards because she was filming on location for Hacks.

02:22The Wicked cast was missing one of their own.

02:24Jonathan Bailey, who was a nominee for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role,

02:29did not attend the ceremony, as he is currently starring in Richard II on the West End.

02:35Going back to theatre is where I started when I was very young.

02:39This is almost 30 years since I did my first show at the Barbican Royal Shakespeare Company.

02:45And so, yes, it was, you know, what a joy to be able to come back

02:50and, yeah, hopefully introduce some people to Richard II

02:54and then also, you know, diehard Richard fans and Shakespearean fans.

02:59Hopefully we'll get a lot from this, I think.
