01:14my vision is for this book to be freely distributed to support local food MSMEs,
01:20culinary entrepreneurs, and creative industry stakeholders.

01:28but also a journey towards the culture, tradition, and heart of Filipino cuisine.
01:34The book is called Kayu Manggi,
01:36a kaleidoscope of Filipino flavors and traditions
01:39to preserve and promote Filipino food.
01:43This book can also be a mirror of our culture
01:48for others outside the Philippines.
01:52Because when you introduce Filipino cuisine,
01:55it's beautiful, right?
01:56You present it in a book that is easy to understand.

02:02It's something that really entices you to do.
02:05With the help of the Department of Trade and Industry
02:07and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement,
02:10as well as the U.S. Embassy,
02:11the book that gives pride to the dishes that we are proud of was successfully launched.
02:18Us in the DTI, we recognize the importance of preserving tradition through a cookbook.
02:23We wanted to create something that's lasting,
02:25something that we can pass on to generations to the next.
02:29So this initiative also aligns with the DTI's commitment
02:33to strengthening and preserving the Philippine creative industries.
02:38Filipino gastronomy is not just a cultural treasure.
02:42It is an economic driver.
02:44Filipino cuisine is more than just a simple combination of ingredients.
02:48It is a kaleidoscope of flavors, memories, and cultures.
02:53And through this book,
02:55we will also learn to value each story and flavor
02:59of the food served at our table.
